MIAS 2013: 9th Year and Still Going Strong


For the ninth consecutive year, Worldbex Services International, the organizers of the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) opens its doors once again to automotive enthusiasts and the public the country’s biggest automotive event on April 4 to 7, 2013 at the World Trade Center and Philippine Trade Center. With a larger floor area, this year’s MIAS promises to be its biggest showing yet, with over 300 cars on display, including new and never-before-seen car models in the market as well as classic, vintage and exotic cars.

New Model Debuts

Ford Philippines will debut the all-new Ranger Wildtrak pick up truck, while Mazda will launch the all-new Mazda6 executive sedan. Subaru will launch its all-new Forester, featuring its new fuel-saving turbocharged engine technology and all-wheel drive system. UK precision driver and Guinness record holder Russ Swift returns for a thrilling exhibition of precision driving behind the wheel of the new Subaru BRZ. CATS Motors will introduce the new JEEP Wrangler Moab and for te first time in MIAS, its iconic motorcycle brand Harley Davidson will showcase its latest motorbikes. Kia will feature a preview of the all-new Carens MPV. Peugeot will highlight their diesel technology and its face-lifted RCZ sports car. Tuason Racing teams up with BMW to launch the Tuason Racing driver experience featuring M-powered BMW cars.

Last year, MIAS welcomed more than 88,000 visitors. Currently, the MIAS exhibition space is comprised of the World Trade exhibition hall and lobby with an exhibition floor space of over 10,000m2 and an additional 4,000m2 annex building (east wing tent) and some 6,000m2 of outdoor exhibit, test drive and stunt performance areas.  In addition, MIAS extends its events venue to the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) building, with an exhibition floor space of 4,000m2 plus another 3,000m2 of air conditioned tent connecting the PTTC and WTC east wing tent hall specially installed for the show. This makes MIAS still the country’s biggest annual motoring event.  Visitors can avail of special deals on cars and accessories and great financing deals through BPI Autoloans, the official auto loan partner of the MIAS.

MIAS Event Highlights 

Show highlights which will include the Petron-MIAS Classic and Custom Car Competition; a photo contest and exhibit; and other celebrity driver appearances.

MIAS will be hosting the “Car of the Year Awards” gala evening on April 4th, in cooperation with Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI). The Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) will hold “Driver of the Year” awards night on April 5th at the same venue. The AAP will honor the top race drivers of the year at the 18th Annual Motor Sports Awards Night on April 5, 2013 at the Philippine Trade Training Center at the MIAS. Due to its membership in the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the Paris-based organization that governs all four-wheel motor sports worldwide, AAP is the only auto club authorized to organize, supervise and sanction four-wheel motor sport events in the Philippines.
