22nd Trans Sport Show on May 30, 2013

How does one take originality, innovation and perfection and improve on it? For the 22nd Trans Sport Show, the answer will happen on May 30, as the country’s longest running automotive show unlatches the hood once again at the SMX Convention Center in the SM Mall of Asia grounds.

First opening in 1992 and now on its 22nd year, the Trans Sport Show (TSS) earned an unequalled reputation as a car show like no other.

“The uniqueness of the Trans Sport Show lies in its deep connections with the exhibitors, the visitors and the competitors,” observes Andy Dysangco, a well-known car enthusiast and vintage car collector. “Other shows are for brands and cars people already see in the dealer showrooms. At the Trans Sport Show what the visitor sees are cars borne out of creativity, care and attention to detail.”

Now a true driving force in the car industry, the show is show has now become an enduring automotive brand that embodies the Filipino car enthusiasts’ dreams through two or even three generations. These generations of car lovers have demanded only the best, an annual challenge for the organizers.

For the 22nd running of the show, Phoenix Petroleum continues its partnership as the main sponsor, and will feature the 2nd Philippine Nostalgic Motor Show—a perfect segue to the launch of “Driving Generations,” Trans Sports Show’s newest slogan.

The two-word sentence embodies the brand’s market position. Not simply a show for car enthusiasts, or a gathering of the best and most creative minds in automotive sound, body, tuning and paint engineering, the Trans Sport Show creates endearing memories to those who have visited and participated in the event.
“Driving Generations is perfect platform for the enthusiast to understand why the car crazy Filipinos love their cars, no matter what age or genre they come from,” explains Tradeshow International President, Sophie de los Santos.

“It always starts with an inspiration,” Mr. Dysangco, who is also a frequent judge at the event’s international-standard vehicle competitions. “The originality and creativity of others drives those who witness it to follow suit and create and modify on their own.”

For over two decades, the Trans Sport Show has served the automotive industry by creating niches to which the mainstream car-makers can pick up ideas. Car accessory and personalization businesses have also taken advantage of the show, experimenting with set-ups and offerings. It has remained to be the only automotive exhibition that caters to a most diverse car loving audience—of all ages and from all walks of life—an institution and a powerful brand in the realm of competitions, auto restoration, aftermarket products and car club networking.
