Toyota Motor Philippines Launches All-new Vios (w/ Brochure)

Vios—derived from the Latin word meaning “to move forward”—seems like a fitting nameplate for a car that’s destined to bring Toyota Motor Philippines to new heights and bring its product-led transformation to the next chapter: the mass-market. The undisputed leader in the sub-compact car segment since the launch of the first-generation model in 2002, the all-new, third-generation Vios aims to cement that lead further, and in the process, add another nail to the competitors’ coffins.

Encapsulating “Waku Doki” or “Fun-to-Drive”, the all-new Vios sports a brand-new sheet metal that’s aggressive and dynamic. The exterior of the Vios takes its design cues from the likes of the 86 sports car and the RAV4 crossover with its angular and dynamic lines. Upfront the new face is dramatic with an upper grille that seems to traverse through the swept-back headlamps and a sporty trapezoidal blacked-out lower grille. The head-turning frontend is matched equally at the back with sharply creased tail lamps for a futuristic look. Aside from being a looker, the Vios’s new design incorporates new aerodynamic fins (such as those in the side view mirrors) to cut the wind better, offering better aerodynamics resulting in improved fuel efficiency and cabin quietness.

With an exterior stretched in almost every direction (L x W x H): 4,410 mm (+110) x 1,700 mm (+00) x 1,475 mm (+15), the new Vios boasts of even more cabin space with more headroom, knee room, and shoulder room than ever before. The flat rear floor design means that three adults can fit comfortably at the back while the stretched rear area equates to more trunk capacity. Apart from class-leading space, the all-new Vios features an interior that emphasizes modernity and classiness. The dashboard is punctuated by dramatic lines, chrome accents, molded stitching, and Piano Black accents. The three-ring instrumentation cluster features cool blue illumination for a sportier attitude. And as with the exterior, the interior shows Toyota’s world-renowned manufacturing technology, resulting in a fit and finish that exceeds its class.

Underneath, the Vios comes with same reliable family of 4-cylinder engines equipped with double overhead cams, 16-valves, and Toyota’s VVT-i or Variable Valve Timing with intelligence. Both the 1.3- and 1.5-liter engines boasts of excellent everyday performance coupled with superb fuel economy. The 1.5-liter 1NZ-FE boasts of 107 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 142 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Meanwhile, the 1.3-liter 2NZ-FE features a peak output of 85 horsepower and 122 Nm of torque. Both engines maybe mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic featuring Toyota’s Super ECT technology. And to ensure excellent handling, stability, and ride comfort, the all-new Vios features a re-engineered platform for better performance as well as a highly-rigid body for improved handling and comfort.

Available in six variants: 1.3 Base (P 592,000), 1.3 J M/T (P 630,000), 1.3 E M/T (P 727,000), 1.3 E A/T (P 762,000), 1.5G M/T (P 812,000), and 1.5G A/T (P 847,000), the all-new Vios is available in even more exciting colors: White Pearl, Freedom White, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, Black, Red Mica Metallic, Dark Brown Metallic, and Orange Metallic (availability of which depends on variant).

The all-new Toyota Vios is slated to be another huge success for Toyota Motor Philippines, and the country’s best-selling car brand is inviting the motoring public to “start the fun” by test driving the all-new Vios on Saturday, July 13 to Sunday, July 14. From 10am to 5pm. The Vios will be made available for test drives at the Alabang Town Center, Bonifacio Global City, and Eastwood City.

  5. Since this next gen Vios uses the same engine as the outgoing model, will it still be prone to the open-hood syndrome of the previous gen to prevent, I presume, overheating of the engine, as seen from Vios taxis plying the streets of Manila.

    1. the open-hood was due to LPG convertion where in they ( drivers / operators ) didn't use an specified motor oil like castrol LPG motor oils . it's much expensive than regular motor oils .
