Ford Philippines Finishes September with Best-Ever Performance for Month, Third Quarter

Ford Philippines today reported that it finished the month of September in record fashion – achieving its best-ever performance for both the month and third quarter.

Continued strength in demand for its full lineup of global Ford vehicles – led by the class-defining all-new Ranger pickup - helped Ford deliver its best-ever September retail sales of 1,231 units, helping drive its all-time best third quarter with sales up 46 percent to 3,330 units.

“A healthy economy and strong consumer confidence is helping drive steady showroom traffic across the country,”said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines. “This is helping introduce our Ford brand to even more customers, and response to our full lineup of segment-leading Ford vehicles has been exceptional and is helping drive record sales.”

Ford remained the country’s fastest growing automotive brand in 2013 through September with year-to-date retail sales rising 70 percent to 9,591 units.

All-new Ford Ranger continues to be Ford’s best-selling nameplate, with September sales of 438 units, helping third quarter sales surge 172 percent year-over-year to 1,209 units.

Sales of Ford’s cars also contributed to the exceptional September performance. In its first full month of availability, the segment-leading new Ford Fiesta delivered retail sales that increased 54 percent to 315 units.

“The new Fiesta offers exactly what our young and trendy customers are looking for today in a small car – expressive, fun, smart, and with leading fuel economy,” said Hart. “It’s off to a great start, and we’re confident new Fiesta will continue increasing in popularity and connecting with an even wider variety of customer lifestyles and personalities.”

Featuring the global 1.5L Ti-VCT engine, the new Ford Fiesta is available in a total of eight variants, including both 5-door hatchback and 4-door sedan models. By the end of the year, Ford will expand the popular Fiesta lineup to include the new Fiesta Sport+ featuring the fuel-efficient and internationally award-winning 1.0L Ford EcoBoost engine.

The technology-packed all-new Ford Focus also delivered a strong month with September sales of110 units, helping drive third quarter sales up 167 percent year-over-year to 310 units.

Healthy demand for Ford SUVs also continues with the Ford Everest posting sales of 289 units in September. Year-to-date retail sales of the Everest family SUV have now risen 79 percent to 2,015 units.

Continued strength in demand for the upgraded Ford Explorer lineup helped third quarter sales nearly double to 277 units, with year-to-date sales now up 73 percent to 737 units.

And in September, the company sold another 19 units of the Ford Mustang sports car, bringing overall customer deliveries since its launch in the Philippines to 303 units.

As sales across its product lineup continue to grow, Ford remains committed to continually enhancing its customer and ownership experience.

Recently, Ford topped the 2013 J.D. Power Asia Pacific Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study for the Philippines, helping to highlight its efforts to provide an unmatched customer experience across its expanding network of nationwide Ford dealerships.

Among the 10 brands in the Study, Ford ranked highest overall, performing particularly well in five areas, including delivery process, delivery timing, paperwork, deal, and dealer facility.

“We’re proud of our number one ranking in JD Power’s SSI survey, which helps to underscore the progress we are making to deliver an unmatched customer service and ownership experience,” added Hart. “We will continue to make investments and further enhancements to help ensure that the quality of our customer service and experience is equal to the world-class quality of our Ford vehicles.”
