Subaru Teases All-New WRX; Debut Set at LA Auto Show

Subaru has just released a teaser shot of the all-new WRX which will be unveiled at the upcoming 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show from November 20.

From what we can tell, it doesn't look anything like the WRX Concept which was unveiled at the New York Auto Show but more like the current 4th generation Impreza with a hood scoop and some subtle fender flares. But, at least the production WRX does look to gain the WRX Concept's hexagonal grille as well as the "hawk-eye" headlamps. Thankfully, the iconic hood scoop is still present.

Of course, Club RZ's Facebook page did leak the entire photo of the car ahead of the launch.

According to Road & Track, the all-new WRX is expected to rock a 2.0-liter engine lifted from the BRZ but without Toyota's direct-injection system. With that hood scoop, we're thinking the very same power plant from the Forester XT--the 2.0-liter FA20DIT?

During the same show, Subaru will also unveil a new design concept model (could be the eventual Tribeca replacement or even all-new Legacy).

  1. I like this look compared to the WRX Concept--it's a style that abandons Subaru's rally history.
I hope the pricing would be available soon!
