Toyota Registers Strong Sales in First Half of 2015

The number one automotive brand in the country remains strong as seen in its sales last June. Compared to the same period of last year, Toyota’s sales increased by 17 percent with 9,923 units sold last month. The automotive brand capped off the first half of the year with 57,717 units registering a year-to-date growth of 19 percent versus last year. Its Passenger Car (PC) and Commercial Vehicle (CV) sales tally at 23, 804 and 33,913 units respectively.

Leading both the PC and CV segments in Toyota’s line-up are the Vios and the Fortuner. The subcompact, Vios remains at its strongest as seen in its performance since the start of the year. On a year-to-date basis, 14, 878 units of its fun-to-drive model have been sold. The Fortuner, on the other hand, proves its dominance in Toyota’s CV line up as seen in its numbers for the first half of the year with 8,744 units sold.

In a statement, TMP President Michinobu Sugata stated: “Our first semester performance proved to be encouraging as Toyota’s sales continue to increase with the second quarter growing by 7% versus Quarter 1 of 2015 due to the high demand of new vehicles over the summer season. As we enter the second half of the year, our priority as a brand is to remain steadfast to our customers’ needs such as providing the best deals we can offer, making it easier for Filipinos to own a Toyota. An example of this is that we have extended Toyota’s Mid-Year Madness promo until July 31 giving more opportunity for customers to drive home a brand new Toyota with its exciting deals and easy-to-own payment options.”

Sugata also remarked that amidst the company’s rapid growth in sales, Toyota puts equal focus on customer service. “We are grateful that our sales continue to grow due to the high demand in the market. Just last April, we breached the 1 Million Sales Mark, a first in the automotive industry. Having said this, it steers us to put more value in our customer service assuring our customers that each vehicle we sell is a promise of a Toyota Ownership Experience. Likewise, with 46 dealerships nationwide to cater to the growing market, the public can expect more to open within the year. This expansion will allow more accessibility and convenience providing customers with renowned quality products and services Toyota can offer.”
