2016 Toyota Fortuner Pricing Leaked

The launch of the all-new 2016 Toyota Fortuner is just a few days away (January 14 to be exact) and because of that, some dealers just can’t keep their excitement. A quick browse reveals that some dealers have begun pre-selling Toyota’s PPV (Pickup-based Passenger Vehicle) and can be reserved with just P 20,000.

We’re sure to have all the details for you when the information does come in, but here’s the 2016 Toyota Fortuner pricing according to dealers:
  • 4x2 2.7G Gas – P 1,319,000
  • 4x2 2.4G M/T Diesel – P 1,415,000
  • 4x2 2.4G A/T Diesel – P 1,485,000
  • 4x2 2.4V A/T Diesel – P 1,755,000
  • 4x4 2.8V A/T Diesel – P 2,120,000
We’ve already covered the Fortuner’s specs in two markets: Thailand and Australia (see link), but as a refresher, it’ll come with a new line of Euro-4 emission compliant diesel engines with 150 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque for the 2.4-liter 2GD engine and 177 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque for the 2.8-liter 1GD engine. The 2.7-liter 4-cylinder likewise gets updated with Dual VVT-i. The transmission is a choice between a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.

What do you think of the all-new Toyota Fortuner’s pricing? And of course, stay tuned for the next couple of days when we get more information.

  1. Priced to beat the new Montero. But with less than a P100K difference between the cheapest automatic variants on both models, I'd definitely get the Montero with its 184 HP and 430 nm engine. 184 vs 150 and 343 vs 430 is a big, big difference in power.

Back then if you wanted power, you either buy the Sorento at P1.4M or pony up more money for the Santa Fe because of their 197 HP R engine. With the cheap Sorento discontinued, you're left with the P1.768M Santa Fe. At least the new Montero fills in the power-price gap left by the old Sorento.

    4. i think the 184hp is for premium model and not for montero gls 2wd

    5. montero engine is made up of aluminum. and is not durable compared to cast-iron engines. by the time you reach 150k kms. in mileage, warranty is no longer valid. you end up with overheating issues

  2. It still boils down to cost of maintenance and reliability.
The mux has both and more. It's cheaper, though it still is Euro 2. Dono why, must be the reason why it's cheap.

    1. the mux is built locally in philippines without any custom tariff taxes included

  3. Not all about power though let's wait and see! What you must look out for is the power to weight ratio. Just because one has more power it doesnt mean that it would automatically be faster. IE: Toyota 86 and Miata 2016. The toyota 86 has more power (200hp) but would loose to the miata (155hp-170hp not sure). Test drove the 2016 monty. Was impressed but still kinda heavy. Expected to see the Fortuner's steering. Everest still best in class though with that electric sterring. Feels like you're driving a car or a prado.

    2. shet 8th speed tranny daw. hahaha so 1 speed lang yung trans nya? sabaw!!!

      Delete
    3. what's an 8th speed tranny? would that mean it only has one speed/gear? just the 8th?

anyhow, i've been looking into the new montero and paying close attention to the new engine. you mentioned that it has electronic valve. when you say electronic valve, do you mean camless? hence no cam shaft and cam gear which eliminates the need for a timing belt/chain.

I would be interested to see legit documentation/literature stating that the NH15 features electronic valves.

  24. Driven MUX, Tagaytay, Bulacan and up to Baguio City, return via Ben Palispis Highway (yata iyon) last December. You can sense the TCS, ECS are working downhill. Acceleration is superb, hindi ka mabibitin, suspension is well tuned, fuel concumption is great, interior space is great, overall comfort, convenience, power and safety are all high rating, I got 15km/liter, sometime it reaches 16km/l (SLEX,NLEX,SCTEX, TPLEX),engine noise level is low. Hindi ako masyadong pagod compare to previous Fortuner that I used. This is what I called value for money. Timing chain yung engine which translate to lower maintenance cost. Managed to speak to Trailblazer owner in Baguio (similar ot MUX, except for the engine). He got similar feedback, nice to drive even long distance.

    2. with the price of the all new fortuner and montero being sky high, the trailblazer is in a very good position. here is a list of things in favor of the trailblazer:
      1. best in class power and torque
      2. no engine issues so far (introduced since 2013)
      3. rear disc brakes (drum for fort)
      4. 5 link suspension (compared to 4 of the fortuner's)
      5. macho look (compared to the sleek fort and mont)
      6. 5 star safety rating (google "colorado 7")
      7. signigicantly cheaper (1.788 vs 2.120 of the fortuner) 4x4 TOTL.
      8. you'll probably get better discounts and freebies for the trailblazer
      9. same engine as the one in the colorado sold in north america (so recalls [if any] will be more transparent)

    4. By the way, may pambili ako ng tsinelas, kahit sampung havaianas pa yan. I have a toyota wigo 1.0L, ford fiesta s 1.5L, mitsubishi asx gsr 2.0L, at toyota fortuner 2.7L vvt-i. I'm petrol boy all the way.

      http://www.myspinny.com/blog/index.php/petrol-vs-diesel-performance-compared/

      Delete
    6. Everyone with a normal functioning brain knows that gasoline is superior than diesel when it comes to performance. Formula 1 cars, Ferrari, Lamborghini? Gasoline. Trucks, SUV, Van? Diesel.

It's obvious that diesel is pathetic when it comes to performance but its advantage is that it is significantly more fuel efficient.

      Delete
    7. Kaya nga, performance po ang sinasabi ko, atleast nakuha mo point ko na gasoline is more superior. Many diesel-heads out there run their "200 hp" diesels as if they are the kings of the road. And when they talk about power, its as if diesels are supreme.

      Magresearch ka ng mabuti.
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_automobile_racing
      ----------
      1) Talking why I need more hp? Kelangan ko yan during quick acceleration at overtaking.
      2) Why I need more nm? Kelangan ko yan sa cornering at hauling.
      3) Why I need diesel?

      Delete
    9. Hey airhead. Try mo maghanap ng ferrari na diesel. The fastest cars in the world are gasoline. That itself is the best proof that diesel will always be inferior when it comes to performance. Di basta tumitirik? Tell that to jeepney owners. Their reactions will be priceless.

Every vehicle has a specialized function or feature. In doubt ka siguro sa kasarian mo hehe.tsaka dont compare a diesel and petrol car. May kanya kanyang reason bakit diesel sya at gasoline.

    2. not sure with the new fort and montero. but the old ones, fortuner had a cheap to PMS but the montero was a different story.

anyway regarding trailblazers maintenance. the thing is, most chevy casas allow customers to bring in their parts (oil, filter, etc). they just charge/penalize you a certain percentage but you still end up saving a lot. i have not heard of any toyota casa allowing this. for mitsu, i think their c5 branch does.. sometimes..

      Delete
    3. Chev trailblazer's parts are already manufactured in thailand, which means they are competitive with the parts' price of mitsu and toyota. Also ,PMS fee/charge is almost the same as other service fees for SUVs

I can't figure out why this is the case. how do these manufacturers price their vehicles? is it mainly done by marketing? My prediction is that Toyota will price their entry level all new Innova above 1M. fuck TMP
