Isuzu Philippines Sales Up 50 Percent in 2015

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC)—the local arm of the Japanese manufacturer—is welcoming the New Year on full throttle after finishing strong, selling more than 22,000 units for the full 12 months last year and selling more than 50 percent of their 2014 sales feat.

Based on the report submitted to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers’ Association (TMA), IPC has sold a total of 22,581 units from January to December last year, reflecting a 59.7-percent rise versus the 14,134 units released the previous month.

While on a month-on-month comparison, IPC also showed 59-percent surge in sales after selling 2,365 units in December 2015 as compared to the 1,490 units for the same month the previous year.

IPC dominant sales performance for 2015 was spearheaded by their flagship model—the Isuzu mu-X SUV—which sold 10,900 units for the whole year. The remarkable numbers is equivalent to a 432-percent increase in their sales from the 2,048 units sold for the same duration in 2014, marching ahead of IPC’s other well-loved models.

For December alone, the Isuzu mu-X has rolled out 1,357 units, showing a 170-percent climb from the 502 units that were sold for the same month in the previous year.

Providing additional boost for IPC is the excellent sale of its Truck units, for 2015 its Category III light-duty trucks sold 2,920 unit which is 24-percent higher than the 2,358 units sold in 2014. IPC also sold 1,269 units of its Category IV medium-duty trucks and 280 units of Category V heavy-duty trucks which is a 36- and 200-percent increase respectively from the previous year.

The impressive 2015 sales effort from its SUV and Truck models buffered the steady sales effort from their Isuzu Crosswind AUV and Isuzu D-MAX pick-up. Last year, the Crosswind had 4,096 units sold, which a slim 17-percent decline over the 4,908 unit tallied in 2014. While the D-MAX sold only 3,116 units compared with the 3,803 units in 2014.

IPC President Hajime Koso expressed his gratitude for the Filipinos’ continued trust and confidence to the brand, saying that they would surely be not taking it for granted.  “Rest assured that we will continue to be Filipinos reliable partner in business and leisure,” he said.

Further, he said that aside from eyeing better sales, Filipinos can expect new things from Isuzu as the year progresses. “As our way showing how much we value our stay in Philippine shores, we would continue to bring out the best,” Koso added.

  1. I hope we get an improved Crosswind or a new AUV model. It would boost their sales more, I think.

  2. They should make a new generation crosswind, improve the safety of their vehicles, increase the power of their under powered engines and decrease the weight of their vehicles. Filipinos still buy from Isuzu because reliability is their top concern, not safety or modern technology which is different from what people from 1st world country do. They would definitely choose safety over reliability

  3. Akala ko ba euro4 na dapat lahat ng binebenta sa 2016? Bakit may crosswind pa rin?
