Bangkok Motor Show 2016: Chevrolet Hints at 2017 Colorado and Trailblazer with New Concepts (w/ 24 Photos)

Don’t let the “Concept” moniker fool you: you’re looking at the 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer and Colorado. Unveiled at the Bangkok International Motor Show, the thinly veiled Trailblazer Premier and Colorado Xtreme Concepts give a strong hint (i.e. less accessories and body cladding) at Chevrolet’s revamped pickup truck and mid-sized 7-seater SUV which will arrive in Philippine showrooms in production form by the end of the year.

Uncovered by Marcos Puty, Managing Director of GM Thailand and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, the two concepts help show the versatility of this shared platform by having two distinct personalities.

Gaining a lot of inspiration from the North American model’s front fascia, the Colorado Xtreme is what Chevrolet calls the “ultimate tough American pickup”. It brings a much sportier, much more confident stance while offering a progressive spin on Chevrolet’s true-truck styling heritage.

As a concept, the Colorado Xtreme is finished in a special matte orange color giving it a unique and exciting persona, clearly differentiating it from the more sophisticated, more luxurious Trailblazer. It also has powdered-effect accents and accessories to give it a macho look. It features large fender flares with 18-inch all-terrain tires with custom bead locks, a uniquely designed snorkel, a front safari bar with integrated LED bar, and much more.

Inside, it features new auxiliary gauges and accessories such as a passenger grab handle and an instrument panel with a built-in inclinometer. The unique color, materials, and textures all point to exceptional attention to detail while the latest version of MyLink with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto bring in-car entertainment and connectivity to the next level.

Next to the Colorado Xtreme, the Trailblazer Premier gives luxurious sophistication to Chevrolet’s pickup-based passenger vehicle (PPV). Unlike the Colorado which is bold and tough, the Trailblazer goes for a more subtle look. The exterior treatment is reminiscent of Chevrolet’s North American SUV offerings such as the Suburban or Tahoe thanks to the abundance of chrome. The Velocity silvery blue color has smoky oil blue undertones and is finished with high-gloss clear coat to give a ultra-sleek and rich finish.

Inside, it has a more sophisticated treatment, emphasized by the use of bright chrome and premium materials such as Australian timber. Like the Colorado though, it gains the most cutting-edge infotainment system with MyLink technology. The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto system supports unparalleled connectivity including voice commands.

    4. Chevrolet didn't reveal any mechanical specs during the unveil of the two "concepts". Expect it to have the carryover Duramax engines perhaps we can see even a slight power increase too.
