MINI Philippines Holds Track Day Event for All-New Clubman

Recently, MINI Philippines put the all-new Clubman through its paces at a track day event held at the Clark International Speedway in Angeles, Pampanga. Inviting over a hundred participants from the MINI Car Club to prospective buyers, the Clubman was undoubtedly the center of attention during the whole day event.

Re-imagined and thoroughly re-designed, the all-new Clubman is the UK-based carmaker’s stab in the premium compact segment. And to prove that it lives up to its iconic “go-kart like performance”, drivers had their run of the track during lapping exercises to feel the Clubman’s speed as well as its maneuverability. Instructions were on hand to teach newbies on how to best unleash the excitement on the east and west portions of the speedway.

The longest and widest MINI, the Clubman boasts the most interior room as well. Gone is the right-hand club door replaced by a full-sized one for easier ingress and egress. The familiar bi-parting rear doors are still present, but the right panel how conveniently swings outward with the press of the key fob button or even with a foot waved under the rear bumper sensor. The doors also give easy access to the spacious cargo hold.

Inside, the Clubman’s 6.5-inch screen residing in the signature mid-console dish serves as the main highlight. Featuring re-designed icons, the screen serves as the main hub for a variety of information such as car functions, entertainment data, and phone functions. In addition to this is an LED ring which changes colors and schemes to respond to specific operating procedures. The Clubman also offers a hue-adjustable ambient lighting.

The MINI Clubman is powered by a 1.5-liter twin turbo 3-cylinder engine with 136 horsepower and 220 Nm while the Clubman S has a 2.0-liter twin turbo 4-cylinder engine with 192 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque.

The all-new Clubman is now available for viewing at MINI dealerships nationside: MINI Global City (5th Avenue cor. 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig); MINI Roadshow Greenhills (324 Ortigas Ave., North Greenhills, San Juan), and MINI Cebu (AS Fortuna Street, Bakilid, Mandaue City).
