PIMS 2016: Another Day, Another Limited Edition Honda City

Another day, another limited edition Honda City; well, that’s the impression you get as Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) is showing off yet another spruced up City sub-compact sedan just in time for the Philippine International Motor Show in about a week.

As HCPI best-selling model and the only one manufactured at the company’s Santa Rosa, Laguna assembly plant, the 1.5 E Limited Edition digs deep into the accessories catalogue to spice up the already-well loaded entry-level model.

The City 1.5 E Limited Edition is distinguishable from the regular model thanks to the standard LED daytime running lights (DRLs) which are set within the fog lamp bezel. At each door, integrated door visors add more style and convenience during rainy weather. And of course, a limited edition model isn’t complete without a “Limited Edition” emblem on the trunk lid.

In terms of convenience, the 1.5 E Limited Edition adds speed-sensing door locks that automatically locks the doors when the vehicle speeds up past 15 km/h. The same system also automatically unlocks all doors when the shift lever is placed in Park.

Another added feature is the new Panic Button which emits both visual and audible alarms when the button is held for a long time. As usual, the City 1.5 E benefits from dual SRS airbags, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), and brake assist.

Mechanically, the City remains unchanged and comes with a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine paired with Honda’s Earth Dreams CVT transmission.

Four colors are available for the City 1.5 E Limited Edition: Taffeta White, Gold Brown Metallic, and Ruby Red Pearl. The retail price is P 824,000.

Of course, for customers who book orders during PIMS from September 14-18, exclusive offers and packages would be made available.

For those not interested in the City 1.5 E Limited Edition, there are more surprises in store from Honda.

  1. the add-on features is offered only to the City E and not to VX variants?
