Toyota Motor Corporation has just announced a significant milestone for its hybrid technology: the sale of nine million units (9,014,000 according to their official figure) globally. What’s even surprising is the increased uptake with the last million being sold in just the past nine months.
Twelve years and ten months since its debut, the Mazda3 has reached a milestone: the production of five million units. Achieving this feat at the end of April 2016, it’s only the second car from the Hiroshima-based car company to reach this milestone. The first one is, aptly, the Mazda3’s predecessor, the Familia.
Anyone of a certain age will remember SsangYong. Apart from a name that read like a typo, it was infamous for slapping on a German three-pointed star on its vehicles in the late 1990’s to early 2000’s. It died a natural death, whimpering out of existence as extinct as the animal namesake of one of their nameplates. That is, until now.

The combined business will grow Total’s network from 206 to 442 stations and its retail market share from 3 percent to 6 percent. Recently, MINI Philippines put the all-new Clubman through its paces at a track day event held at the Clark International Speedway in Angeles, Pampanga. Inviting over a hundred participants from the MINI Car Club to prospective buyers, the Clubman was undoubtedly the center of attention during the whole day event.

When Hyundai launched the fifth-generation Elantra in 2011, it almost turned the compact sedan segment upside down. Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., will take a 34 percent stake in Mitsubishi Motors Corporation after the two companies signed a Basic Agreement today to form a strategic alliance between the two automakers. The deal, worth 237 billion yen is extending an existing partnership between Nissan and Mitsubishi under which the two companies have jointly collaborated for the past five years.

Fuji Heavy Industries, the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its horizontally-opposed “Boxer” engine. It’s hard to understand why there’s little love for the all-new Mitsubishi Strada. Many dismissed it for the toothy chrome grille, but besides that, it’s a great performer. It may not spout the same sort of spec sheet worthy numbers like horsepower, torque, or water wading depth, but at the end of the day, the Strada simply works. So, it’s time to go beyond the cover (or in this case, the grille) and witness what could be the best everyday pickup truck.

After being previewed as a concept in the Bangkok Motor Show, Chevrolet has finally pulled the wraps off the production version of the 2017 Colorado, a pickup which Chevy says offers greater performance, better safety, increased refinement, and segment-leading technology.
For all intents and purposes, you are looking at the Nissan Juke’s future replacement: meet the Kicks. Sounding like something only millenials could name, the Kicks isn’t a pair of sneakers. Instead, it’s an all-new small crossover designed for the global market. In fact, at its launch in Brazil, Nissan has confirmed that it will sell the Kicks in around 80 markets worldwide. Will the Philippines be a part of that? With left-hand drive assembly confirmed, that sounds very likely.
Ford Philippines today reported an all-time record month with retail sales in April that soared 93 percent year-over-year to 3,152 units, led by strong demand for the Ranger pickup and all-new Everest, EcoSport, and Explorer SUVs.

World-renowned jazz trumpeter Chris Botti and rock legend Sting both rode in utmost luxury and class aboard the dynamic Volvo XC60 SUV and All-New Volvo 7-seater XC90 SUV during their Manila tour. Ensconced in legendary Volvo safety, they were also ferried around in well-appointed comfort as these Volvos served as their official transport. Both icons shared the stage at the Marriot Grand Ballroom in Resorts World Manila for their Up Close and Personal concert this March 2016.
It had to be seen to be believed. Looking like something out of a Sci-Fi blockbuster, Flyboard Air inventor Franky Zapata piloted his creation 2,253 meters to smash the world record for the farthest distance traveled by hoverboard, which previously stood at 276 meters.
