The Diesel-Powered 2018 Honda CR-V Has Arrived

While buyers of the gasoline-engined CR-V have been enjoying their rides since August, Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) is announcing that the first batch of their much-awaited diesel-powered CR-V has finally arrived.

Available for delivery starting immediately, the all-new CR-V is Honda’s first-ever local diesel offering. Along with the diesel powerplant, the CR-V also has a 7-seater configuration and an uncompromising list of convenience and safety features. This boosts Honda’s confidence in gaining market share not only in the lucrative compact crossover market, but the highly competitive mid-sized SUV market as well.

Customers can now view the all-new CR-V variants at their nearest Honda Cars dealership.

    1. I saw a black one. It looks nice but the CX-5 just oozes of luxury, especially the high variant soul red or machine gray.

    2. The cx5 looks cheap as hell when compared to the crv. Parang nagmukhang avanza siya. 3rd world na ang itsura pag pinagtabi sa new crv.

    3. ^Honda fanboi, your jaw will drop if you see one on the road, especially the red or the gray one.

    4. Actually, it is the CRV which has a similar generic front face like the Avanza.

    5. I've seen the CRV several times in the casa since im shopping for a Civic RS. The CX5 looks better than the CRV and is drop dead gorgeous.

The CRV though is more spacious and is surely more comfortable than the CX5.

    6. The cx5 looks so cheap beside a new crv. I already saw both on the road. Anyone who says otherwise is blind and needs to have his eyes checked. The cx5 is now generic as f*** thanks to the design being used over and over again.

    7. Sure, a funky-designed, made in a 3rd-world country, using 3rd-world available materials, with a phased-out detuned diesel engine SUV, looks better than a 100% CBU Japan-made, using Japanese-sourced materials, multiple design award-winning SUV. Okay fanb0i, whatever.

    8. That "just because it's made in japan is better" bullshit isn't applicable today. Every modern car is virtually the same in quality because of standardization... Except maybe china made cars or other lesser known brands.

    9. Well, the PH version of the CX5 will be coming from Malaysia starting next year.

  3. It' so underpowered, it took them this long to get the CR-Vs out of the ship. Nahirapan umakyat sa unloading ramp, hahaha.

    1. Pareho lang naman sila sa 2.0 na cx5 na underpowered. At least you're saving some gas sa CRV. Only respectable cx5 are the awd and the diesel but those are rare on our roads.

  4. Nope, that's untrue. The CX-5 2.0L has 155hp and a ~1300kg curb weight, same as many 2.0L sedans, due to the extensive use of ultra high-strength boron steel for the chassis. It's faster and more nimble than most other 2.0L gasoline crossovers. No excuse for this detuned 120hp, late-2000s old-design diesel engined CR-V.

    1. Where did you get that 1300kg figure? CX5 gas 2.0 weights 1500 kg which is roughly the same as the crv 2.0. The diesel crv is about 100kg heavier but more than makes up for it in torque.
