The Honda Odyssey Gets a Second Refresh for 2021

It’s hard to believe but the current Odyssey has been around since 2013. Launched in the Philippine market in 2015, it’s undergone one refresh to date. Well, better make that two because Honda’s executive MPV is getting yet another refresh for 2021, and this one will be the most substantial yet.

Review: 2017 Honda Odyssey 2.4 EX

Honestly, Honda didn’t need to bring in an “entry-level” Odyssey. At 2,399,000, the top-of-the-line EX-V Navi is smartly packaged and well done. It does the job of being a business-class shuttle and family mover equally well. That said, Honda saw a market gap that wasn’t being served: one where its patrons longed to upgrade from an Innova into something more sophisticated, but still didn’t want to let go of their practical, “low key” image. Enter the Odyssey EX, essentially a low-calorie version of the EX-Navi that’s P 440,000 cheaper.

Review: 2015 Honda Odyssey EX-V Navi

Photos by Ulysses Ang
It’s not every day you get excited about driving a luxury MPV: they’re cumbersome and unwieldy. They’re just too big to drive around Manila and sometimes too big to fit in the garage. And unless you plan to chauffeur drive it (and some motoring journos do this despite an explicit no-no in the test drive agreement) or drive it out of town, they’re at the bottom of any must-drive list. Probably even below a pickup truck. But the all-new Honda Odyssey’s different. For starters, the proportions are actually humane. It’s actually shorter than the Accord. And for that, it gets your attention.

Honda Launches Smaller but Smarter 2015 Odyssey MPV (w/ Specs)

Bigger isn’t necessarily better; what counts is the smarts. It’s a trend you see everywhere from toys to gadgets to houses. Now that trend has entered the automotive market, and in a segment you least expect: the premium MPV. In a world where gargantuan people carriers rule, Honda Cars Philippines is taking a bold, new direction; one that takes it to an undiscovered country. And there’s no better ride to take you there than the all-new Odyssey.

Honda Spruces Up Odyssey and Pilot with Rear Entertainment System (and Huge Discounts)

With great space comes great comfort—as genuine 8-seaters, few can ever match the refinement of the Honda Odyssey MPV and Pilot mid-sized crossover. And now, just in time for the kid’s summer vacation, Honda Cars Philippines is now throwing in a rear entertainment system for free. The catch is, you’ve got to buy your Odyssey or Pilot before March 31.

Both the Odyssey and Pilot is now kitted free with a rear entertainment system that includes a 10-inch roof-mounted DVD entertainment monitor. The system also has AV inputs and comes with wireless earphones and a remote control. Along with the rear entertainment system, both models get spiffy genuine accessories. The Odyssey now gets standard splash guards while the Pilot gets running boards for easier ingress/egress. And to top it all off, they’re now available at a substantial discount: P 250,000 off the Odyssey and P 100,000 off the Pilot.

So, if you are in the market for an 8-seater MPV or crossover and have been holding off, you’re in luck. This deal is available at all of Honda’s 31 dealerships nationwide.

Honda Cars Philippines Announces Recall for Pilot, Odyssey

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) announces a voluntary recall of vehicles subject for inspection of some 171 units of the Honda Pilot and Odyssey sold in the Philippines for the period of June 2012 to January 2013 that are due to potentially inappropriate installation of rivet in Driver’s Front Airbag.

Findings show that there are possibly some rivets which secure the driver’s front airbag cover and bracket that were inappropriately installed. As a result, the deployment characteristics of the affected airbags may change upon collision and driver protection performance may decrease.

Surprise! Honda Launching Pilot, Odyssey in Philippines

Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) is adding 2 new additional cars to its local line-up. And while we all thought it was going to be more variants of the Civic, this is actually their big surprise: they're actually launching the all-new Pilot and Odyssey.

For those who remember, both the Odyssey and the Pilot aren't new to our market. However, we can't deny that they were sales duds appearing either too late (Pilot) or too expensive (Odyssey) for our market. However, that doesn't prevent Honda from trying once again.

Based on overeager sales agents, Honda is selling these two vehicles at close to P 3-million. P 2,700,000 for the Pilot and P 2,900,000 for the Odyssey. Though the launch is still a couple of days away, we were able to snag some of the specs for these two vehicles:
