Hyundai Shows Off Refreshed 2024 Elantra

Hyundai is continuing to refresh its entire line-up. After showing off sketches of its upcoming Accent (Verna), they’re now showing off the facelifted Elantra for the first time. Known as the Avante in its home market, the update comes nearly three years since the 7th generation model made its debut in 2020.

Based on the official photos shown by the Korean automaker, the Elantra receives a completely new front end that aligns it with their new global design. The parametric grille has been widened and shortened compared to before. Of course, this necessitated new headlights as well. The bumper features a wider lower intake for increased visual aggression.

The rear also gets tweaked with a new U-shaped accent on the bumper. And onto the sides, the aero trim on the C-pillar has been blacked out to blend it better with the window lines. New alloy wheels cap off the changes.

Inside, the sole photo from Hyundai shows minor color changes made to the interior. The “Immersive Cocoon” layout remains, and with that, it gets dual 10.25-inch screens for a futuristic feel.

As for powertrains, Hyundai hasn’t revealed anything yet, but expect the Elantra to keep its current set of engines and transmissions including a 1.6-liter Smartstream gasoline engine (123 horsepower, 154 Nm of torque), a 2.0-liter Atkinson Cycle 4-cyliner engine with 147 horsepower and 179 Nm of torque, a 1.6-liter hybrid with 141 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque, and a pair of turbocharged 4-cylinders. The 1.6 (Elantra N Line) makes 204 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-liter (Elantra N) makes 280 horsepower and 392 Nm of torque.
