It looks like Toyota is seriously considering to release a production model that blends the best attributes of a crossover with that of a cargo van. Toyota is the latest one to get into this craze with the FT-4X Concept at the New York International Auto Show. And before you dream about this being the next-generation FJ Cruiser, it’s not. Instead, it’s specifically targeted for the urbanite who may somehow end up in a casual, albeit unplanned adventure. There’s no need to climb or summit a mountain, Toyota says. A drive to a scenic point will do.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2016: Toyota GAZOO is Ready to Race in 2016


Toyota GAZOO Racing showed off its past, present, and future at the Tokyo Auto Salon by unveiling three new racing car entries for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring this coming May 26 to 29. The three vehicles, the Toyota C-HR Racing (based on the concept but not the eventual production model), Lexus RC, and Lexus RC F took the center stage all dressed in drool worthy racing gear.

So-called because it’s Toyota’s ultimate expression of what a Toyota coupe should be, it successfully builds up on Toyota’s rich heritage with cars including the Celica, Supra, and the 86.
