CATS Motors Makes Challenger SRT8 Available in PHL

CATS Motors, Inc., the official Philippine distributor of the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands has finally added a new model to their line-up: the Challenger SRT8 muscle car.

Dubbed as the "Ultimate American muscle machine", by Reid Bigland, the President and CEO of Dodge, the SRT8 is available with a massive 6.4-liter V8 HEMI that tops off at 470 horsepower. Couple this with a track-tuned suspension as well as heavy-duty brakes, the Challenger SRT8 is a dream come true for any performance car enthusiast.

Starting the Year with 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8

This SRT or Street and Racing Technology, product development formula that features five proven hallmarks: awe-inspiring powertrains; outstanding ride, handling and capability; benchmark braking; aggressive and functional exteriors and race-inspired and high-performance interiors.

The Dodge Challenger delivers exactly what muscle car enthusiasts want – a powerful and efficient engine lineup, performance suspension designed for maximum grip, and athletic head-turning styling – all executed with quality and precision and was recognized as the “Ultimate American muscle machine”, said Reid Bigland, President and CEO, Dodge Brand – Chrysler Group LLC.

The 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 tops the model range with its massive 470 horsepower and 470 lb. –ft. of torque from a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 and an adjustable track-tuned suspension. The added torque allows for inspired standing starts and improved straight-line performance while new, performance-tuned motor mounts improve idle stability and ride control at any speed. The performance SRT-tuned, fully-hydraulic steering system has also been improved with a new, heavy-duty pump and revised gearing to give drivers more direct feel and on-center response. Added from the 2011 model is the Fuel Saver technology in automatic transmission equipped models, which allows the engine to operate economically on four cylinders or use all eight cylinders when needed.

Known for its world-class ride, power, handling and braking performance, the standard SRT performance brake package produces world-class stopping power of 60 to 0 mph in just 117 feet from 14.2 inch (front) and 13.8 inch (rear) vented/slotted rotors with four-piston Brembo fixed calipers painted red. The three-mode electronic stability control system with knockback mitigation also includes four-wheel ABS, all-speed traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, Brake Assist and Hill-start Assist (HSA). The Ready Alert Braking system anticipates when the driver quickly releases the accelerator pedal and may initiate an emergency brake stop, after which the electronic stability control pump engages to set brake pads against rotors in order to decrease the time required for full brake application.

The race-inspired interior begins with a new, leather wrapped, heated, SRT-exclusive steering wheel that features a unique satin chrome rim section with a flattened bottom surface that showcases the SRT logo. The SRT-exclusive Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) with performance pages provides the driver with trip information, multimedia information from the Media Center radio. The innovative Uconnect® Media Center radio integrate a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, with a hard drive where more than 150 hours of music and photos can be stored is now available on the 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 for maximum convenience and wide array of connectivity, infotainment and mobile multimedia.
