Outside, the Accord receives square-type projector headlights complete with LED park lights. This is complimented at the back with LED tail lamps. The design of the new Accord emphasizes more sportiness with its aggressive bumper design as well as the standard slew of chrome scattered around. More importantly, the all-new Accord is 4,870 mm long with a 2,775 mm wheelbase making it slightly smaller than the outgoing model. However, Honda is quick to say that the Accord features a much roomier interior especially with front and rear shoulder room.
Among the available features found in the all-new Accord are 8-way adjustable power driver's seat, 4-way power front passenger seat, dual-zone climate control, and a push button ignition system. The all-new Accord also features Active Noise Control (ANC) system which improves the already stellar quietness of the Accord.
Under the hood, the Accord is powered by a new 2.4-liter Earth Dreams engine with 174 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque. However, for the Thailand market, the Accord is still available with a 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine with 155 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque--an engine shared with the CR-V and Civic. This 2.0-liter engine is now made E85 capable. No news about the 3.5-liter V6 model yet (and it wasn't at the Honda display stands).
In terms of safety, aside from the usual airbags and stability systems, the all-new Accord debuts Collision Mitigation Brake System which is a radar-based emergency braking system. It also features LaneWatch Blind-spot Display as well as Adaptive Cruise Control.
Headlights reminds of the old Hyundai Azera and taillights from Hyundai Genesis.

ReplyDeleteHonda has a very dull design team, 10 years ago, Honda sales people would talk about upcoming new car launches of Toyota and Mitsu , today, they are more concerned with the Hyundai and Kia designs coming out almost every other month. Ask the Honda people.
I own a honda accord and yes Kia and Hyundai are on go. Honda is losing sadly.
