55 Years. 3 Days. 1 Celebration: Subaru Celebrates 55 Years with All-Wheel Drive Experience on September 20-22, 2013

Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP), the authorized distributor of Subaru in the Philippines, celebrates the 55th anniversary of Subaru since the sale of the first Subaru 360 in 1958. As part of the celebration festivities, MIP will hold a carnival featuring its first Subaru All-Wheel Drive Experience on 20-22 September 2013, at 9th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City.

The inaugural Subaru All-Wheel Drive Experience event will have a specially-designed track for customers to experience Subaru’s acclaimed core technologies, the All-Wheel Drive and Boxer Engine. Other activities will also include a Subaru roadshow showcasing the complete current Subaru model lineup offered in the Philippines, including the recently launched Subaru Forester, as well as fun filled activities for the young and old.

The event will feature two driving courses – a Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive course and a City Driving course. Both are designed to demonstrate how Subaru cars behave, with its superior handling capability and responsiveness, under different simulated and actual road conditions.

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive Course

The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD) course is designed to highlight Subaru vehicles in extreme scenarios to demonstrate the benefits of Subaru’s core technologies. The course is broken down into 5 obstacles:
  • X-Mode
  • Cross Roller
  • Ramp
  • Shell Pits
  • Slip Roller
Each obstacle simulates a situation where traction is intentionally lost between wheels. The dynamic combination of the All-Wheel Drive and the Subaru Boxer engine with low-center of gravity provides stability and quick response to navigate on tough roads, handle slippery surface or even on steep hills.

City Driving Course

The pre-selected course will show how Subaru cars perform in everyday city driving conditions and replicate a daily commute. The simulated tight cornering and moderate street traffic will emphasize how each Subaru car was meticulously designed for safety, performance and comfort.

While the adults go on their Subaru test-drives, there will be a host of activities to keep the young ones entertained during the weekend including a Kids Area that will feature face-painting, animal balloon making, coloring and game console activities.

The Subaru All-Wheel Drive Experience will provide a platform for a practical and in-depth understanding into how Subaru vehicles perform and deliver comfort, performance and handling with its signature core technologies developed and tested over 55 years.

MIP currently has Subaru showrooms located across Philippines - Greenhills, Global City, Alabang, Pampanga, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Davao. For more information, visit our website at www.motorimage.net/ph.
