Ford Philippines Sales Rise 48 Percent; Ranger is Now Philippines's Best-Selling Pick-Up Truck

Ford Philippines today announced its best-ever performance for the month of February with overall retail sales rising 48 percent year-over-year to 1,277 units.

The exceptional month was led by the Ranger’s best-ever monthly performance, as well as strong performances from the Everest, Explorer and Fiesta nameplates.

“Our full showroom of global Ford vehicles in the Philippines continues to appeal to a wide range of lives and lifestyles -- customers who want and appreciate the segment-leading combinations of safety, quality, fuel efficiency, smart technologies and value for money that our vehicles deliver,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines.

The all-new Ranger led the record month with retail sales jumping 158 percent from a year ago to 647 units, representing its best-ever monthly performance and making it the top selling pickup truck in the Philippines for February.

Strong demand is continuing for both automatic and manual transmissions of the versatile all-new Ranger, which has redefined the pickup segment.

Sales of the sporty Ford Fiesta increased 16 percent year-over-year to 184 units, as young and trendy Filipinos continue to connect with the significantly refreshed nameplate.

The new Fiesta is available with Ford’s global 1.5L TiVCT engine, as well as the award-winning and high-performance 1.0L EcoBoost engine that delivers class-leading fuel efficiency and emissions levels. The new Fiesta also features Ford’s SYNC in-car connectivity system.

Ford’s SUVs also contributed to the record February performance. The popular Ford Everest family SUV posted retail sales that increased 22 percent from a year ago to 233 units, while sales of the all-new Ford Explorer surged 89 percent to 121 units.

Ford continued a roadshow that included test drives of the all-new EcoSport compact SUV at major malls in February, helping to drive customer demand leading up to the start of customer deliveries next month. The Ford EcoSport Roadshow will visit SM Cebu from March 21-23.  Reservations are now being accepted at all Ford dealerships nationwide.

“Initial customer response to the all-new EcoSport has been terrific. Its maneuverability, compact size but spacious interior and abundant storage capacity, as well as smart safety features and technologies, such as our SYNC in-car connectivity system, make it the perfect urban SUV,” said Hart.

Pricing of the all-new EcoSport – with all variants equipped with Ford’s 1.5L TiVCT engine – ranges from Php 775,000 to Php 975,000. It is available in seven dynamic colors, including Mars Red, Candy Red, Lunar Sky, Ingot Silver, Frozen White, Panther Black and Winning Blue.
