New Multi-Brand Showroom to House Subaru and Changan Cars in Manila Bay

Tan Chong International Limited (TCIL), the parent company of Subaru and Changan distributors in the Philippines, today announced the opening of the first phase of its brand new multi-brand facility in Metro Manila. Located at the automotive area of Manila Bay, the new facility will house major Subaru models, with the Changan brand to be added in the later part of the year.

The latest addition to the Subaru sales network in the Philippines, the Motor Image Manila Bay showroom is located at Lot 39, Block 2, Bradco Avenue, Aseana City, Paranaque. The flagship Subaru showroom in Metro Manila celebrates Subaru’s classic roots and tradition, as well as its dedication to engineering excellence.

“Over the past few years, we have seen encouraging year-on-year sales growth for Subaru. For all customers in the Philippines who have shown support to Motor Image, the opening of the new showroom is a firm commitment for us to work harder to better serve our customers in all aspects as part of a continuous effort to elevate the Subaru customer experience.” said Mr Glenn Tan, Executive Director, Tan Chong International Ltd.

Occupying a total area of 2,599 sqm, the new building will be offered as a one-stop shop option for customers to view the different range of vehicles distributed by TCIL in the Philippines and will include showroom, aftersales service and workshop facilities.

The Subaru showroom will also house the full product offerings of the Subaru vehicle line-up, including the bestseller Forester, city crossover Subaru XV, handling-delight Subaru BRZ, powerful Legacy 2.5GT Sedan, luxurious Outback and the soon-to-be launched Subaru WRX and WRX STI.

In the later part of 2014, the Manila Bay showroom will see a new addition to the building with Changan, one of the world’s leading carmakers, occupying the showroom next to Subaru. TC Changan Manila Inc. will make its inaugural presence in the Philippines with the brand’s extensive range of passenger and commercial vehicles.

“The addition of Changan to the new multi-brand Manila Bay showroom will enable us to further strengthen brand presence and better serve the needs of a wide range of consumers looking for quality, premium vehicles in the Philippines,” said Mr Seetoh Kwok Meng, Chief Executive Officer of TC Changan.

Changan International Corporation first announced its partnership with TCIL in 2012. TC Changan Manila Inc. is set to be the fourth - after Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam - to make its presence within the Tan Chong network in the Southeast Asia region.

Motor Image introduced Subaru in Singapore in 1986, and has since set up vehicle sales and distribution networks in Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Southern China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, with the aim of letting more people in the region discover and enjoy the difference of driving a Subaru. Motor Image Pilipinas currently has showroom across the country – Manila Bay, Greenhills, Global City, Alabang, Pampanga, Batangas, Cagayan De Oro and Davao. The new Manila Bay building will allow customers to view and test drive new cars at the showroom, and benefit from the after-sales services at the workshop and customer lounge, all conveniently available within the same building.
