Toyota Motor Philippines Sets New Sales Record in March

The number one automotive company in the country sets a new sales record surpassing 8,000 units in a single month last March. Toyota Motor Philippines’ (TMP) sales grew across the board tallying 8,840 units, the highest any manufacturer in the country has ever registered.

This record-breaking run was led by the sustained sales of the best-selling Toyota vehicle, the Vios, at 2, 290 units last March. This growth in sales was further reinforced by the newly introduced models in the first quarter such as the All-New Corolla Altis, the New Innova and the New Wigo.

In a statement, TMP President Mr. Michinobu Sugata expressed… “We are overwhelmed and grateful for the patronage our customers show towards our vehicles most especially towards our CKD models, the Vios and the Innova. This record breaking sales performance is indeed proof to the trust and loyalty our customers have shown to our brand. I would like to thank the public -- for this feat would not be possible without them. Their faith in our brand inspires us to continuously give our best and move forward with even better products and services.”

Furthermore, Sugata added that “Just last March 31, we introduced the all-new Yaris adding more value to our already formidable line-up. Just like our other newly introduced vehicles this year, we look forward to the support the customers will express towards the Yaris.”

On a year to date basis, Toyota Motor Philippines continues to remain strong in the Passenger car segment (8,340 units), Commercial Vehicle segment (14,383 units) and overall sales. All in all, the manufacturer experienced a growth of 34% in total sales with 22,828 units as compared to last year’s total of 17,061.
