Chery Cars Philippines: Promoting Mobility for All

Chery Cars Philippines aims to empower wage and salary workers so that they can have their own vehicles or start their own businesses through easy loan access.

Citing government statistics, Marinel Santiago, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Chery Cars Philippines, said 57.5 percent of the country's 38 million employed Filipinos are wage and salary workers.

Most of these workers are in the agriculture and services sector who yearn to own affordable vehicles to give them ease in going to and from work or to help them start their own businesses, she said.

“The salary and wage workers sector is the backbone of our economy and private companies such as the car industry should be engaged in improving their work condition so they can become more productive and play key roles in nation-building,” Santiago said.

Chery Cars offers a line of vehicle products that are affordable, stylish, and durable. The prices of Chery vehicles are 45 percent lower than their counterpart Japanese and Korean vehicles, she said.

Santiago said Chery Cars Philippines is also partnering with commercial banks and insurance companies that can provide easy loan access to wage and salary workers.

Chery Car utility vehicles include the 11-seater CHERY Q22L, which can be used as a service vehicle, and the Chery Fulwin 2 model, which is a sports style hatchback that is fuel-efficient and convenient for city driving.

Other Chery Car models include the spacious Tiggo, a new version of compact car QQ3, utility vehicle Q22B, and the life-saving ambulance vehicle Q22.
