Volvo Philippines Shares Gifts with Chosen Children

Volvo Philippines gives back as it shares its blessings to the Chosen Children Village Foundation, Inc. (CCVFI). In celebration of its 20th year in the country, Volvo continues its dedication to care for people when it teamed up with the Scandinavian Society of the Philippines (SSP) in a recent visit to the Chosen Children Village. Ferried by the dynamic line of Volvo cars, sponsors and donors trooped to Silang, Cavite and enjoyed a day with these special children, bringing with them love, care and financial aid to further the rehabilitation and continued development of children in this home.

Chosen Children Village provides much-needed care, attention, protection and development to emotionally, mentally and physically challenged children. As young as infants and into their teens, these children are nurtured, educated and provided opportunities for growth that will enable them to focus on disability prevention, rehabilitation and equalization of rights in order to grow in a community that will enhance their self-esteem and capability.

A crayfish party fund raising event held in September this year opened the doors for donations and together with SSP, Volvo Philippines along with other sponsors and benefactors has raised over P400,000.00 in contributions that will go a long way in making sure these children are properly cared for.  Aside from this monetary donation, Volvo also brought early Christmas presents as a simple way to add cheer and bring about smiles from these little angels. “As Volvo has been blessed with 20 fruitful years in the Philippines, it is our pleasure to partner with SSP to care for the children and staff of the Chosen Children Village” said Mr. Chris Yu, Senior Marketing Manager of Volvo Philippines.

A long-time proponent of safety, Volvo has introduced several class-leading and often world-first innovations that put emphasis on child safety in cars. With 50 years of knowledge and expertise, Volvo brings in-car child protection leagues ahead from its competitors starting with the world’s first rear-facing child seat prototype in a PV544 back in 1964 to the latest innovation is an Inflatable Child Seat Concept that is easily tucked away in a small bag when not in use. Aside from these technological advancements, the people at Volvo Philippines has always displayed a healthy support for the youth with previous programs such as the Voice of Leadership and Child Safety Seminars aimed at not only protecting, but also educating and developing future leaders.

Volvo has always been about people and this simple act of generosity is a testament to the commitment that has propelled the company to create cars that care.
