Kia Continues Winning Ways

The year is shaping up to be a great one for Kia Motors as their vehicles gained recognition globally.

In January, the Kia Carnival was recognized by the prestigious Korea Automobile Journalists Association as 2015 Car of the Year. The affiliation of reporters from 37 national newspapers, broadcasts, and magazines gave Kia’s reliable MPV the top honor after evaluating 40 new cars each year. Based on performance, convenience, design, safety, and fuel economy, Kia Carnival proved to be the top choice. It is also the first time for a minivan to get top recognition.

Another well-known automotive resource for shoppers and enthusiasts is Edmunds.com and every year, it conducts a popularity poll for their 18 million unique site visitors. For the second straight year, the Kia Soul was regarded one of the most popular in the sub compact category.

The 19th Urban Wheel Awards’ Urban Car of the Year was awarded to Kia K900 for its elegance and overall refinement. The panel assessed new vehicles in a variety of urban settings in North America to determine the most stylish and practical.

In Singapore, the top automotive website, SgCarMart, also released an annual Car of the Year awards. With over two million unique site visitors every month, SgCarMart brings together car buyers and industry veterans to review vehicles and come up with the best in each segment. Upon careful deliberation, the Kia Optima K5 was recognized as the Best Family Sedan of the Year.
Most recently, the world-recognized J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) concluded its industry-wide research that named Kia Sportage as the Leader in Small SUV Category. This is also the first VDS award in Kia history and it comes in the heels of two consecutive J.D. Power Initial Quality Study awards for the Sportage in 2013 and 2014.
