Hyundai HND-12 Enduro Concept is an Urban Sports Crossover

Hyundai Motor Company showed off an interesting new concept at the 2015 Seoul Motor Show: the HND-12 Enduro. The Enduro is a small urban crossover that’s aimed squarely at individuals with energetic and athletic lifestyles. It’s dubbed the “Professional Gear” for those who want to escape an ordinary life.

Measuring at just 4,271 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm, the Enduro Concept is inspired by rally motorcycles that compete in the world’s toughest rally events. It is also very close to the Veloster in terms of overall proportions. Above all, it’s a new interpretation of Hyundai’s design language. The hexagonal grille has now been lowered to create a sense of stability while aluminum aero blades connect the front fender to the grille giving it a look of self-confidence.

Inside, the cabin features both horizontal and vertical motifs. A newly designed center stack controlled by two large knobs control both the infotainment system (top) and climate control (bottom). The Enduro Concept also has rear air conditioning as well as a highly flexible interior with folding rear seats.

Under the hood, the Enduro Concept is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injection engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

The concept of a three-door urban crossover isn’t entire new. Subaru actually showed off the BRZ-based Cross Sport Design Concept at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show in 2013. It’s slightly larger than the Enduro, measuring at 4,300 mm.
