Lotus Cars Manila Previewed at Globe Slipstream 2.0 (w/ Specs, Prices)


The iconic purveyor of light-weight, high-performance British sports cars is finally in Manila. Lotus Cars Manila, a new brand under the Autohub Group, gave the public a sneak peek of their line-up at the Slipstream 2.0 event in Bonifacio Global City. It was the perfect venue as the Prince of Speed and Globe Tattoo ambassador Marlon Stockinger was on hand to show off his car handling prowess using his Lotus Formula Renault 3.5 open-wheeled race car.

With that thrilling event as a backdrop, Lotus Cars Manila showed off its line-up namely: the award-winning Evora, the iconic Elise, and the stunning Exige.

“We are pleased to announce this newest and so far, the biggest milestone for the Autohub Group. It is with great pleasure that we’re given the chance to be part of this revolution to keep pace with the increasing customer demand and deliver the unique Lotus pure driving experience here in the Philippines. Expect bigger things to happen in the near future,” says Mr. Willy Teen Ten, President of the Autohub Group.

Lotus Cars has a storied history of manufacturing famous sports and racing cars such as the Esprit, Elan, Europa, Evora, Exige, and Elise. Of course, it’s also well-known for the black-and-gold livery of its Formula One racing cars.


The company is based at the former site of RAF Hethel, a Word War II airfield in Norfolk, United Kingdom. The company also has its own test track, motorsports, and driving academy facilities located close to its main headquarters. They also own engineering consultancy firm Lotus Engineering which has facilities in the United Kingdom, United States, Malaysia, and China.

The brand is known for its intense passion, tremendous personality, and gritty determination. Throughout the decades, it has remained true to its core of developing cars with a well-defined performance edge combined with ultimate lightness.

At the event, Lotus Cars Manila showed off the Elise S Club Racer, Elise 220 Cup, Exige S Roadster, and Evora S Sports Racer 2+2. All these models embody speed, handling, and sophistication.

The Elise S Club Racer and Elise 220 Cup are both powered by a 1.8-liter supercharged 4-cylinder engine making 217 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.  Both of these 2-seater models come with a 6-speed manual transmission that provides bristling acceleration enough for a 4.2-second 0-100 km/h time. The Elise S Club Racer comes with a focused-minimalist interior with fabric seats while the 220 Cup comes with a SuedeTex Composite seats.

Meanwhile, both the Exige S and Evora S come with a 3.5-liter supercharged 6-cylinder engine making 345 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Both models offer a 6-speed manual as standard but also offer a 6-speed automatic as an optional. Regardless of transmission, the Exige S blasts the 100 km/h mark in 3.9 seconds while the Evora 2+2 does it in 4.6 seconds. The Evora, being Lotus’s new grand tourer, offers more luxury features compared to the rest of the line, including full leather sports seats and a larger 60-liter fuel tank.

Lotus Cars joins Autohub Group’s growing portfolio which include: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, MINI, Ford, Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai, and Piaggio. The group is also into car leasing and rental under Click!
