UPDATED: Ford Philippines Announces Retail Sales Date of New Ranger

UPDATE 1: The new 2016 Ford Ranger has officially debuted. Click here for the story (8/17).

Ford Philippines today announced July retail sales of 1,705 units, helping drive its year-to-date performance up 15 percent to 12,132 units.

Ford’s overall July sales were driven by continued strength in demand for the popular Ranger and EcoSport.

The Ranger has remained the country’s best-selling pickup truck this year, with July retail sales delivering 557 units and bringing its year-to-date performance up 24 percent to 4,884 units.

This month, Ford will unveil its new tough and smart Ford Ranger, setting a new benchmark in the pickup truck segment with an uncompromising blend of robust capability, craftsmanship and advanced technology. Featuring a new front end look, a stylish and functional new interior, and a host of safety technologies and smart features, the new Ranger builds upon a reputation of capability, innovation and comfort that has helped the Ranger to stand apart from traditional pickup trucks. Customer deliveries will start in September.

“The new Ford Ranger brings a whole new level of refinement and comfort to its segment without compromising on the rugged and tough capability that our Filipino customers expect. With our proud truck heritage and global expertise in the utility segment, we’ve made what is great even better,” said Kay Hart, Managing Director, Ford Philippines.

The popular EcoSport achieved record sales in July with retail sales rising 59 percent to 833 units, delivering its best month ever since being launched in the Philippines last year.  Year-to-date sales of the compact SUV now total 4,966 units.

The sporty Fiesta contributed to the July performance with sales increasing 10 percent to 153 units, helping drive its year-to-date sales to 867 units.

Ford is also set to start retail sales of the all-new Everest in first week September. Arguably one of the automaker’s widely-popular SUVs, the all-new Everest marks a bold new direction for Ford in the mid-size SUV segment and is set to challenge what customers can expect from their traditional SUV.

This month, Ford will also celebrate the 20th anniversary and the re-opening of its Ford EDSA dealership – the first Ford dealership to open in the country two decades ago.  Ford is on track with its dealership network expansion plan to open 40 locations by year end.

    2. Yes, read it thrice just to make sure. When it said date, you'd expect to see a month, day and year. Dunno why you guys reply that way to your readers. We just want some clarification.

    3. Anon, you could have been nicer in asking the author if there's a specific date instead of saying, "misleading title". I'm sure he would've answered, or maybe just ignore you, in a differerent manner.

    4. Oh i'm sorry, did the reader offend the author's feelings for him to respond that way? when people are browsing the net, you just tend to skim through articles and look for the main gist based on the title, so when the article is poorly written like this, don't blame the reader if the author can't get his point across in a clear manner, and certainly don't blame the readers who are keeping this site alive by clicking on your articles. I enjoy reading your other car reviews and updates, but the way you respond to your readers is arrogant and condescending.

    3. Terrible writing, forcing its readers to read and decipher the entire article when you know that what made us click on the article is the title that says it's about the date of the new ranger's release. then when other readers ask about it, you mock them. At least write an article that'll keep the reader's interest from one paragraph to the next instead of randomly giving out data about Ford's sales reports then somewhere in the middle of the article is about the new ranger's release.

  4. Ulysses, will the Wildtrak variant be available already at launch? Or the XLT ones first again?

  5. yup, same question... interested in the 2.2L Wildtrak 4x2 AT variant...

    1. Yup. Saw units of the Wildtrak going around already, so it's sufficient to say the launch will be simultaneous for all variants.

  6. They will deliver the new Ranger units in Sept 2015. When will they deliver better after-sales services?..... I pity those new to Ford clients..........

  7. Ano nangyari sa front fascia??? Bigotilyo na nga, may mouthguard pa. Nagtipid pa ng konting pintura at hindi ginawang body-colored. Ford talaga.

    1. The dark trim pieces on the Wildtrak are not unpainted panels, those are dark gray glossy panels.

    2. Same difference. Still looks like an ugly moustache and mouthguard combined either way.

  8. I hope they won't match toyota's overpricing of the hilux

    ReplyDelete
  9. ^Of course they will... If Toyota can overprice their low spec'd pick-up, why cant Ford match it? Its all about the money for these car companies, and the Ranger being the no.1 selling p.up in PH is the bread and butter of Ford in this side of the Asian market. They will surely match what is currently available and say their product is better, hence value for money!

  10. “The new Ford Ranger brings a whole new level of refinement and comfort to its segment without compromising on the rugged and tough capability that our Filipino customers expect. With our proud truck heritage and global expertise in the utility segment, we’ve made what is great even better,” said Hart. --Who is Hart? Kevin? Melissa-Joan perhaps? 11. wooow.... before you start slaughtering the author... read the article... it was clearly stated 'September'. In this case the title was not so wisely chosen (in my opinion - but he got your attention ;-) ). I think most of the articles written on this side are very good and are informative. The reactions of some internet trolls on the other hand... If you don't like a car or brand.. it's completely normal, I also don't like some models.. but I will read (or not) the article and stay away from trolling commenting. Keep op the good job Ulysses.
