PHL Market 2016 Mitsubishi Montero Sport Specs Leaked

Just leave it to your dealers to have loose lips when it comes to a new model launch. We’re still a good two months away from the official sale of the 2016 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, but brochures and spec sheets have begun to leak out even if the official website has most of its links labeled as “Coming Soon”.

The Philippine specifications of the all-new Montero Sport can be accessed below, and if you find yourself interested in one, dealers are actually offering a substantial P 60,000 pre-order discount if you book your orders from now until January 24, 2016 (reservation of P 20,000 required). Sure, you’ll get your Christmas gift a bit late, but hey, at least it’s worth the wait.

Dealers have also released the indicative pricing as well:

  • GLS 2WD A/T - P 1,580,000
  • GLS Premium 2WD A/T - P 1,680,000
  • GLS 4WD M/T - P 1,750,000
  • GT 4WD A/T - P 2,000,000

  2. FYI: Clean diesel is a new low emissions technology and smoke free. Mazda has clean diesel in japan and other markets

    1. Drum in disc is Mitsubishi speak for solid rear disc brakes.

    2. The drum refers to the parking or hand brake mechanism which uses a drum type brake.

    4. Maybe "it" meant rip-off. Go back to kindergarten and learn to spell first.

  5. LED Headlights and Start/stop button only for the TotL?

That should have been standard to all.

    1. The advanced info brochure indicates that all photos refer to the ToTL model. They didn't drill down the specs on a per variant level though. We'll have to wait for a more detailed brochure to come out.

    2. The LED Headlights is standard on GLS Premium 2WD AT, GLS 4WD MT, & GT 4WD. The Start/stop button w/ Keyless Operation System is standard on ALL variants.

    3. With the GLS A/T starting at 1.58M already, key features that'll set them apart from other SUVs, like blind spot monitoring, forward collision mitigation should be present, if not Mitsu better not phase out the old models. Times have change. Lots of competition now. Mitsu can't price theirs with a premium just because they fattened the cheeks of their new models.

    1. Awwww. just because you cant afford one, doesnt mean you should knock it.

    2. Shhh. I've got an Explorer and Sorento, which are both more powerful, more refined, and more expensive than this third world SUV.

    3. Oo na, third world SUV na, sige na. We've heard this comment so many times from you. Parang lahat nalang ng SUV reviews ni Uly, sinasabi mo 'to. We heard you the first time at oo nalang kami. OK na?

    5. Very nice you own a Explorer and a Sorento (but still Ford and Kia... not like Audi Q8 or Mercedes GLE)...but I pity you for your "I'm better then the rest 3Th world mentality'. Most people buy a car suiting there needs and financial situation, these people have always money left for good food and are in general more happy then people who buy a car above their capabilities and use their car as an prestige object to show off to their neighbors.

  14. for those who wants a montero but cant get over the 2m mark there is always the 2015 se model but for others 2m is kinda reasonable, stop nip picking about the kind of headlamps used the real question here is how would this model with a new engine coup up with the rigors of our roads and lack of it, safety issues, warranties, after sale care, and depreciation and is it fun to drive or easy to live with, how about the levels of comfort and luxury,. with all of those said this is on top of my short list including furtuner and everest dark horse with be mu-x

    ReplyDelete
  15. Mukhang hindi magkakalayo ang specs at features ng mga new generation SUVs. Montero, Everest, Fortuner at MU-X. Sa pricing , maintenance cost at resale value na lang magkakatalo.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. ya, but if look at the exterior of montero napakalayo sa everest, fortuner at mux especially the rear end, siya ang pinaka worse na design sa apat na competetors, at mababa na rin ang maintenance cost ng Ford.

    2. Ang ibig mong sabihin kung mura dun ka? nganga

  16. Innova will be the biggest gainer given the value for money proposition. Foton Toplander could be the dark horse. Nagmamahalan na kasi lahat. Fortuner, Everest, Montero at MUX

  17. sir uly, please enlighten me regarding sudden accelaration issue. sa mga automatics lang ba nangyari yung mga yun or both M/T and A/T? given the new feature "Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System and the Forward Collision Mitigation System" ay dahil ba yung engines nila ay posibleng ganun pa rin ang magiging problema? in all honesty, naaakit talaga ako sa 8 speed A/T because of the paddle shifters pero sa sudden accelaration issue ako nag-aalangan talaga, kung sa A/T lang yun, 2nd option ko talaga is yung 4wd 6 speed manual nalang. i don't care what others said about it's ugly design kasi it looks good for me, kanya kanyang preference naman yan. i also know that the new fortuner would also offer the same paddle shifters mitsubishi talaga inaantay ko mag available sa ph. thanks in advance sir uly! God bless!
