2018 Ford Fiesta: This Is It

Ford unveiled the next-generation Fiesta at the “Go Further” event in Cologne, Germany. Mark Fields, President and CEO of Ford Motor Company was on hand to unveil four versions of the all-new Fiesta and was joined by 2,500 dealers and employees at the Cologne Nieh manufacturing facility.

At the launch, Fields unveiled four distinct production variants of the 2018 Fiesta: the Fiesta Titanium, the performance Fiesta ST, the upscale Fiesta Vignale, and a crossover dubbed the Fiesta Active.

The new Fiesta features a re-sculpted exterior and a new interior that packs Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system along with an 8-inch floating HD touchscreen (same as the refreshed EcoSport, perhaps). Ford designers have also highlighted that the interior has been simplified by removing around 20 buttons.  The Fiesta is also the first Ford vehicle to offer a premium B&O PLAY Sound System as an option.

Ford has not revealed any mechanical details as of yet, but they did say that the Fiesta will finally receive four wheel disc brakes across the entire line (the current model uses rear drum brakes). One big mechanical highlight is the award-winning 1.0-liter EcoBoost 3-cylinder engine. The inline-3 engine found in the Fiesta will receive a new cylinder deactivation to conserve even more fuel.

In Europe, Ford will offer more personalization options for the Fiesta than ever before while enhancing the sporty, fun-to-drive character that has delighted customers.

More information as they arrive.

    1. That's only three cars, and the fusion isn't even sold here. Whereas Mazda's entire line up looks almost exactly the fucking same! Except for the BT-50.

    1. In my opinion I'd rather have the automatic instead of the CVT because I like having drama and feeling the downshifts. I dont think they'll transfer to CVTs because none of their models have one.

    2. Choose a car with a CVT if you're gunning for efficiency but you'll sacrifice driving feel and the fun of driving. Personally, I would still choose a conventional 6 speed auto.

    3. this car looks very good but a 6 speed manual would do this car more justice

  7. CVT is also automatic. DCT is also automatic. all transmissions without a physical clutch or 3rd pedal are automatics. Ford Escape hybrid, CMax and focus has CVTs offered before in other market, but not here.
