PIAA Helps Toyota Return Back to Winning Ways in WRC

Toyota returned to the winner’s circle in the World Rally Championship (WRC) for the first time since Rally China in 1999. After finishing second in the opening Monte Carlo Rally last January, the Yaris WRC scored its first win at the Rally Sweden with Jari-Matti Latvala in the driver’s seat.

Latvala’s back-to-back podium result means he leads the driver’s championship while Toyota GAZOO Racing is now second in the manufacturer’s championship.

The high-performance Yaris WRC is built by Toyota GAZOO Racing with the help of several technical partners. One of these invaluable partners is PIAA who designed and engineered the lighting requirements of the Yaris WRC car using the latest in lighting technology. The pod lamps were specially designed to custom fit the Yaris WRC using combined HID and LED lamp technology that allowed Toyota GAZOO Racing to negotiate the various night stages safely.

PIAA is committed to providing quality products that meet customer satisfaction. PIAA’s line of LED headlights and fog lights is set apart thanks to a special beam “cutline” that offers a clear, directional frontal light burst that doesn’t blind or inconvenience other motorists.

Established in 1963, PIAA has developed illumination requirements for both consumer and motorsports applications. Racing teams such as Subaru Technica International (STI), Mitsubishi Ralliart, and Toyota Racing Development (TRD) all use PIAA for their lighting requirements.

PIAA is available through these authorized dealers: Autoplus EDSA; Atoy Bodykits on West Avenue, Quezon City; Blade Autostores; CKT Autoshop in San Juan; Roadstar in Bonifacio Global City; and 199 Offroad House.
