Lotus Cars Unveils Evora GT430: Most Powerful to Date

Lotus just released their most powerful sportscar ever: the Evora GT430. With a name that’s derived from its supercharged 3.5-liter V6, the 430-horsepower Evora GT30 offers a breathtaking 0-100 km/h time of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed in excess of 300 km/h. Limited to just 60 examples globally, it’s now available for order at Lotus Cars Manila.

Based off the Evora, the Evora GT430 has new body panels featuring exposed carbon weave sections. Front and rear, it generates up to 250 kilograms of downforce while larger front openings, a new splitter, and various air blades and louvers present its track-honed credentials. At the back, rear aero ducts behind each wheel reduce air pressure while offering a peek of the wider tires. A large rear diffuser and wing complete the transformation.

Despite the addition of 9 kilograms of components (rear wing, larger wheels and tires), the Evora GT430 weighs less. Its dry weight is down by 26 kilograms to 1,258 kilograms making it even lighter than the already featherweight Evora Sport 410. This is the lightest Evora to date.

Sharing its engine with other Evoras, the supercharged 3.5-liter V6 gains more power and torque (440 Nm) thanks to the introduction of an air-to-liquid gearbox cooler. It also receives a titanium exhaust which amplifies the aural presence while cutting some 10 kilograms off the weight. The 6-speed manual has also been tweaked, gaining a low-inertia single-mass flywheel. A Torsen-type Limited Slip Differential (LSD) also offers better traction and faster exit speeds when cornering.

Regarded as one of the finest handling sportscars in the market, the Evora GT430 comes with a two-way Ohlins adjustable damper and larger wheels (245/35 R 19 in front and 295/30 R 20 at the back). It also offers Dynamic Stability Modes with 4 settings as well as 4-piston AP Racing J-grooved and ventilated disc brakes all around.

Inside, the Evora GT430 comes with a minimalist cabin with almost every surface covered in Alcantara and leather. Setting this part from other Evoras, it has carbon on the racing seats, door sills, and instrument binnacle. Even the gauges offer updated graphics.

First deliveries of the Lotus Evora GT430 is expected in early 2018.
