Volvo Philippines Previews All-New 2018 XC60

Volvo Philippines previewed its all-new 2018 XC60 to guests at the Volvo Crayfish Party which was organized in partnership with the Nordic Chamber of Commerce. Slated to be launched later this year, the all-new XC60 replaces the model which has become Volvo’s best-selling model globally.

“Volvo Philippines is proud to give the market a glimpse of the new XC60, and we are confident this Volvo will once again be a strong player in its segment,” said Chris Yu of Volvo Philippines.

Accounting for around 30 percent of Volvo’s global sales, the all-new XC60 is a very important product for the premium Swedish carmaker. As such, they’ve gone to great lengths to give it a truly subtle yet athletic form. In true Scandinavian fashion, it blends both form and function while providing its owners with a special feel.

Initially, Volvo Philippines will be offering the 2018 Volvo XC60 with just one powerplant. The 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine produces 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Mated to this engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission. At a later time, this D4 model will be complimented by the D5 with 235 horsepower, the T5 with 254 horsepower, and the T6 with 320 horsepower.

Volvo says the XC60 is one of the safest cars ever made and it comes with a myriad of new crash avoidance technology. Among the new safety features to make their way to the XC60 is Steer Assist. Integrated into the City Safety system, it helps assist the driver to steer away from head-on collisions (Oncoming Lane Mitigation) and lane-changing errors (Blind Spot Indication System). Pilot Assist, Volvo’s semi-autonomous driver assistance system will be available as an option.

Aside from safety, the XC60 offers a truly human-centered experience. It comes with a new CleanZone four-zone climate control system that removes harmful pollutants and particles from outside the cabin as well as Sensus, Volvo’s in-car infotainment system. The latter receives a new graphical update that improves usability while also integrating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Volvo XC60 is now available for reservations at all Volvo dealerships nationwide with initial customer delivers to start by the end of this year.
