Restoring a 1980's Japanese Car? Yokohama's Got Your Back With This Tire Re-Issue


If you’re in the process of restoring a 1970s to 1980s Japanese car like the Toyota AE86, Mazda RX-7, or Datsun 240Z, Yokohama’s got your back when want everything period correct down to the tires. Starting today, the Japanese tiremaker is re-issuing its Advan HF Type D tire as part of its “Advan Stylish Collection.”

The Advan HF Type D was a hit for Yokohama when it debuted in 1981. Its racing-derived dimpled pattern won praise for its excellent driving performance, helping elevate Yokohama to where it is today. For the re-issue, Yokohama is offering the Advan HF Type D in 6 sizes:
  • 185/70 R 13 86 H
  • 185/60 R 13 80 H
  • 195/70 R 14 91 H
  • 185/60 R 14 82 H
  • 205/50 R 15 86 V
  • 225/50 R 15 91 V
For now, sales are limited only for the Japanese domestic market through their online shop, however, Yokohama has revealed its plans to offer the Advan HF Type D for sale to overseas markets as well. The exact timeline has not be announced yet.
