Foton Philippines Awards Best Dealers; Expects Big Growth in 2018

Foton dealerships across the country gathered for their annual Dealers’ Appreciation Night. Led by United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the official distributor of Foton vehicles in the country, the event was graced by the company’s dealer principals, partners from financial institutions, the media, and executives from Foton International Group.

The 2018 Dealers’ Appreciation Night served as Foton Philippines’ expression of gratitude and recognition of achievements of its dealers who all shared relevant contributions in 2017 which led to Foton’s apparent development in its position in the automotive industry.

The Overall Champion Dealer of the Year is awarded to Foton Quezon Avenue. Foton Philippines’ highest dealer award. It recognizes the dealership with the most exemplary performance in all aspects of dealer operations and standards, including sales, aftersales service, and customer management. This is a big jump for Quezon Avenue who managed to bag the Rookie of the Year award in 2016.

Looking back to Foton Philippines’ 2017 performance, Sytin claimed an 18.5 percent growth for the passenger and light duty truck segments. This is on the heels of Foton’s stellar global performance which enabled the commercial vehicle leader to sell 600,000 vehicles worldwide (89 percent in China, 11 percent for export markets).

In his welcome remarks, Foton Philippines President Rommel Sytin announced that 6 more dealerships are soon to open this year, ending the year 2018 with a total of 29 dealerships. The company will also introduce a myriad of new models including a new Gratour MPV, M4 light-duty truck, and EST heavy-duty truck. In 2020, a new View model, and a new Thunder pickup truck will join the line-up. Foton is targeting a sales target of 78,400 units or a 23.9 percent year-on-year growth. By 2020, Sytin hopes to breach the 126,000-unit mark.

Sytin added, “The strong aftersales capabilities of our dealerships and the availability of Foton genuine parts  that improved the perception and level of confidence to the brand which registered 35 percent  and 40 percent growth on units received and labor and part sales respectively.”

Foton International Group Executive Vice President Ma Rentao said that Southeast Asia is the core area of Foton International’s overseas business and accounts for 50 percent of overseas sales.

Rentao also announced, “Foton Group will continue to give all sided support to the Philippines market for our customers by providing more professional service, efficient spare parts supply, high quality products and global order in management system.”

“Throughout the years, we have been successful in introducing new and improved product lines in terms of performance, durability and reliability translating to better performance and sustainable growth.” Sytin said.

“I’m looking forward to a promising 2018.” he closed.
