Mazda Shows Off Refreshed 2019 Mazda6 Sports Wagon

After showing off the Mazda6’s more mature, more upscale aesthetic at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Japanese carmaker has finally shown how the same look applies to the Sports Wagon model.

Set for a formal unveil at the 88th Geneva International Auto Show which starts on March 8, the 2019 Mazda6 Sports Wagon receives the same slew of updates inside and out as its sedan sibling.

The front-end is new, accentuated by a large, deep grille, extended painted surfaces, and a new wheel design. The company has chosen Machine Gray Metallic as the Mazda6 Sports Wagon’s hero color.

Inside, the new Sports Wagon features an almost entirely updated interior. Like the case of the sedan, only the steering wheel and small trim pieces have been carried over. The rest is new, hoping to give it a more upscale, more modern feel.

No word yet on the Sports Wagon’s available engines, but it’s safe to assume that it will adopt the same 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G with cylinder deactivation function which turns it into a two-cylinder engine at low engine loads.

Mazda will be releasing more information about the 2019 Mazda6 Sports Wagon at the Geneva International Auto Show.
