Volvo Philippines Celebrates Swedish National Day

Volvo once again joined the festivities during the celebration of Sweden’s National Day in the Philippines. Held at the magnificent ballroom of the Grant Hyatt Manila, Volvo Philippines joined their Swedish family in observing the national day of Volvo’s home country.

The event, aptly titled “Swedishness”, highlights the multifaceted aspects of Sweden’s modern society, culture, and way of life. The event presented a wonderful  opportunity for Filipinos to get to know Sweden along with Swedish brands, companies, and products.

Swedish inventions and other exhibits from the Swedish Institute such as Patterns of the Bioshphere and Feminist Foreign Policy were on display. The 2018 World Car of the Year:  the Volvo XC60 SUV also stood proudly amongst its Swedish kin. A showcase of equally innovative and sustainable Swedish products were also present, delighting esteemed guests. Sumptuous Swedish food and lively Swedish music added to the effervescent mood of the evening.

Volvo is known worldwide as a premium carmaker with Scandinavian roots that have created world-changing innovations since the first Volvo rolled off the production line in 1927.

Born with the belief that nobody was making cars strong enough or safe enough for Swedish roads, Volvo has come up with dozens of innovations over the years, some of which have changed the world.

These innovations were all entrenched on the promise that Volvo’s founders made: that everything they do starts with people. The company’s mission to make people’s lives easier, safer and better is something that comes naturally to Volvo. It’s the Volvo way to stay focused as ever on three core values: safety, quality and care for the environment.

Volvo’s “Swedishness” influences its human-centric focus. It is what makes it different from all other car companies, and it is at the heart of everything Volvo creates. Volvo’s Scandinavian design is a combination of simplicity, beauty and functionality.

Inspired by nearly a century of world-changing innovations, Volvo have always designed cars that put people first.  Today, Volvo Cars is one of the most well-known and respected car brands and is heralding an all-electric future.
