Are you a hold out from the SUV craze that’s taking over the whole world? Don’t you wish there could be more oddball wagons that offer just a tad more ground clearance? Well, you’re in luck with the Volvo V60 Cross Country.
The latest addition to Volvo’s transformative line of vehicles, the V60 Cross Country continues with its formula of being a wagon (in this case, a V60) with added ground clearance. Thanks to a specially-developed suspension system, 75 millimeters has been added for enhanced off-road capability and all-wheel drive is standard. This should easily take the V60 Cross country from suburb to skogen (Swedish for forest).
Also riding on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), the V60 Cross Country should also ace the most stringent safety standards in the world. It’ll come with features such as Volvo’s Pilot Assist which supports the driver with steering, acceleration, and braking up to 130 km/h, Run-off Road Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation, and others.
Unlike its sedan sibling, the S60, the V60 Cross Country will be made available in both gasoline T5 and D4 diesel flavors. The T5 gasoline generates 250 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque while the D4 diesel goes 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.
Expect the Volvo V60 Cross Country to arrive in the Philippines sometime 2019.
