Subaru to Expand to 34 Locations in the Philippines

Bullish on the all-new Forester and models equipped with Subaru EyeSight technology, Motor Image Pilipinas recently revealed that they are expanding their dealership presence to 34 dealerships within the next two years.

Putting that into perspective, Subaru currently maintains 17 locations, 4 of which are run by Motor Image Manila—a wholly owned subsidiary of Motor Image Pilipinas. Compared to other brands, Subaru’s plans will bring it closer to Honda’s 37 strong dealer network. In addition, their footprint will become 40 percent larger than their segment rival, Mazda, which currently stands at 20.

If you want to know if there’s a Subaru dealership coming soon near you, check out the full list:

Existing Subaru Dealerships:
  1. EDSA – Greenhills

Now, Motor Image clarifies that not all of the planned dealerships will be a full-blown 3S or Sales, Service, and Spare Parts dealership; some will simply be a 1S or Sales Only showroom. Given the recent slowdown in auto sales, you can’t help but worry that Subaru’s in danger of overexpansion in the country. However, given that the industry does predict an uptick in sales come next year, perhaps now would be a very opportune time for Subaru to lay down their dealership plans.
