Toyota is the Philippines's Most Desired Car Brand

Veygo, an insurance company came up with a list of the “World’s Most Desired Motors.” The list is compiled by analyzing Google search data for the past 12 months.

It comes as no surprise that Toyota is the world’s most searched brand with 57 out of 171 countries, including the Philippines, looking at it. Based on Veygo data, Toyota had 7,829,500 monthly average searches followed by Honda, Ford, Hyundai, BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan.

Compared to our ASEAN neighbors, the Philippines’s love for Toyota is isolated. Honda is the most desired brand in the member countries where it took the top spot in Cambodia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Malaysia stuck to domestic brand, Perodua while Brunei and Singapore took a liking to Lamborghini and Tesla respectively.

Oddly enough, Japan and the USA preferred foreign to domestic brands. Japan searched most for BMW while the USA looked more for Toyota. Only Germany stuck to a local brand: Mercedes-Benz. And speaking of premium brands, Mercedes-Benz had a strong showing, leading in 23 countries, but BMW still managed to sneak ahead with 25.

Veygo used a search tool from ahrefs.com to find the average monthly Google search volume. This data is then paired with existing search volume data from Google themselves to paint a more accurate search volume.
