Jeep Philippines Brings in More Advanced, More Capable Wrangler (w/ 21 Photos, Brochure, Video)

Celebrating its 15th anniversary as the exclusive Philippine distributor of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and RAM vehicles in the country, Auto Nation Group brings the much-awaited 2019 Wrangler—the most capable SUV and the undisputed icon of American freedom.

Enhanced and digitized, the all-new Wrangler JL model continues to boast solid axles on both ends for unparalleled off-roading capability, while the suspension has been tweaked and engineered to make it much more adept as a daily driver. At four corners are 245/75 R 17 all-terrain tires fitted on black steel style wheels.

The body on-frame construction is wrapped around an iconic design representing Jeep’s 70-year heritage. It features the 7-slot grille, round headlights, muscular fenders, and high stance. That said, designers paid careful attention to make sure drivers get a more commanding view of the road as well as better aerodynamics for better on-road NVH and fuel efficiency.

Like the previous Wranglers, the Wrangler JL can be converted to an open-air adventure machine. With the use of aluminum on key parts such as the hood, swing gate, doors, and hinges, it can be transformed in less than 20 minutes. Even the windshield can be dropped down while retaining the rearview mirror. Additionally, there are body-colored sport bars, which are welded to the body and feature integrated grab handles.

Powering the Wrangler is a choice between two state-of-the-art powerplants. Initially, Auto Nation Group is bringing in the new 2.0-liter direct injection 4-cylinder engine generating 268 horsepower at 5,250 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. To follow is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 which makes 285 horsepower and 352 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic.

Inside, the 2019 Wrangler combines heritage-inspired design cues with state-of-the-art convenience and infotainment features. At the heart is the third-generation Uconnect system with a 5-inch screen display. Alongside it is an instrument cluster with a 3.5-inch customizable display.

The all-new Wrangler also offers generous space including an underfloor storage, durable mesh pockets that extend the entire length of the doors, and numerous phone storage areas. The interior is also water resistant with the Keyless Go meant to withstand in damp conditions for up to 24 hours and the floor is washable thanks to one-way drain plugs.

For safety, the 2019 Wrangler receives a huge upgrade on safety and security with more than 75 available active and passive safety, and security features which include blind spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, park view rear backup camera with dynamic grid lines, electronic stability control and multiple airbags.

The all-new generation Wrangler will be available for pre-orders and reservations starting March 14, 2019 at all Jeep dealerships nationwide (EDSA Greenhills, Alabang, Clark Pampanga, and Cebu) with the following prices: Wrangler Sport – P 3,390,000 and Wrangler Unlimited Sport – P 3,590,000.
