Selected Chevrolet Vehicles Covered by Takata Airbag Recall

The Covenant Car Company, Inc., the official distributor of Chevrolet vehicles in the country says that certain models are found to be affected by the global Takata airbag recall.

In a statement, the company says that a total of 3,430 units require changing the driver’s airbag due to the possibility that it may deploy with too much force in an accident. The recall covers the Cruze, Orlando, and Sonic models particularly:
  • Cruze (2010 – 1,119 units; 2011 – 206 units; 2012 – 789 units; 2013 – 67 units)
  • Orlando (2011 – 1 unit; 2012 – 466 units; 2013 – 75 units)
  • Sonic (2013 – 707 units)
TCCCI says that they will replace the airbag module at no cost to the customer and this will be done through authorized Chevrolet service centers. They will get in contact with the owners of affected vehicles through notification letters soon and how to schedule the necessary repair to their vehicle.
