Jaguar Introduces Sexed Up F-Type to the World

Jaguar’s stunning two-door sportscar, the F-Type receives a substantial refresh for the 2021 model year that sees new styling tweaks, better interior materials, and most important of all, enhanced handling prowess.

For this 2021 update, designers have opted to graft on a completely new face, taking cues from Jaguar’s latest design. With that, it gets a more dramatic form thanks to super-slim “pixel” LED headlights with the trademark “J” calligraphy DRLs, sequential turn signals, a new front bumper, and enlarged grille. Over the back, it also gets new rear lamps with a subtle monogram and pinstripe detailing underneath.

Inside, the F-Type now benefits from a much more modern interior. In front of the driver is a re-configurable 12.3-inch instrument cluster and at the center is the Touch Pro infotainment system that incorporates both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Naturally, for all its high-tech touches, it still keeps traditional materials such as Windsor Leather and satin-finished chrome.

In terms of pace, the 2021 keeps a wide-range of engine options starting with a 300-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, moving up to a 450-horsepower V8, and finally to a 575-horsepower version in the F-Type R. All engines feature an active exhaust system in which drivers can switch from a quiet, more subtle engine note to something more dramatic with just a press of a button. Only the V8 versions though benefit from a re-tuned gearbox.

Handling-wise, the F-Type gets a comprehensively updated chassis with new adaptive dampers, springs, anti-roll bars, and stiffer rear knuckles and ball joints for enhanced agility and responsiveness. All models also get wider tires with sizes starting at 20 inches.

Jaguar has yet to announce when the new F-Type will start production, so for now, you can still opt for the current F-Type with Philippine prices starting at P 6.190-million and going up to P 15.590-million for the full-blooded F-Type SVR.
