Ford isn't the Only One Offering a Full-Sized Pick-Up Truck: Meet the 2020 RAM 1500 Laramie

With Ford Philippines launching the F-150 real soon, Auto Nation Group wants to remind you that they’re also offering a full-sized American pickup truck in the country. The official distributor of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram (stylized as RAM) is actually offering two variants of its 1500 pickup truck.

The 2020 RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cab is the fifth-generation model. It features a frame that’s made of 98 percent high-strength steel. It’s also undergone several weight saving solutions through the use of aluminum body pieces and lightweight composite parts. Upfront is a double wishbone suspension, but at the back is a five-link coil spring suspension.

Under the hood, the RAM 1500 is powered by the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8 making 395 horsepower and 556 Nm of torque. Being a normally aspirated engine, it avoids the hesitation and peakiness of turbocharged engines. Paired to the engine is the fully electronic 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic.

Outside, the RAM 1500 Laramie features an abundance of chrome, standard 20-inch alloy wheels with 275/55 R 20 tires, LED head- and taillights, and the class-exclusive RamBox. The RamBox is a lockable bed storage that’s weatherproof, lockable, illuminated, and if need be, drainable.

Inside, the RAM 1500 Laramie is fully loaded with power adjustable ventilated front seats, power adjustable pedals (both with memory function), leather upholstery, the Uconnect 4 infotainment system with an 8.4-inch display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 9 speakers.

The RAM 1500 Laramie is priced at P 3.990M.

For those on a budget, RAM Philippines, like its counterpart in the U.S., is still offering the fourth-generation RAM 1500 alongside the all-new model. Locally, it’s called the 1500 SLT Crew Cab.

The 1500 SLT Crew Cab trades a V8 for the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 285 horsepower and 352 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic is mated to the engine, and like the RAM 1500 Laramie, comes with a four-wheel drive system.

Outside, it gets the same 20-inch wheels and tires, but trades the LED headlights for halogens. Ditto inside, where the leather seats make way for premium fabric seats. Regardless, it still uses a Uconnect 4 infotainment system with 9 speakers, dual zone climate control, and a power adjustable driver’s seat.

The RAM 1500 SLT Crew Cab is priced at P 2.990M.
