Hyundai Venue, Nissan Sentra Among This Year's Best Interiors List

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Wards Auto has gone digital in choosing this year’s 10 Best Interiors.

In normal times, the American-based organization that has covered the automotive industry for over 80 years, would spend a day or two just fiddling with the knobs, trying out the seats, touch the materials and so forth before handing down the keys to another editor. However, since that’s not possible, they’ve instead resorted to using live video while discussing features relevant to the judging criteria while other editors would be watching or asking questions via a conferencing app.

With no restraint on pricing, these 10 vehicles bested 25 other nominees based on the following criteria: aesthetics, comfort, ergonomics, materials usage, fit and finish, and user-friendliness.

The most affordable winner in this year’s list is the Hyundai Venue. Wards cited the sub-compact SUV’s interior color scheme and surprising level of technology on what’s essentially an entry-level car.

On the other end of the spectrum, there’s the Bentley Flying Spur. And while owners can specify up to 15 color combinations, Wards fell in love with the red-hued “Cricket Ball” color. This year marks the third Wards 10 Best Interiors trophy for Bentley, having won with the Bentayga and Continental GT previously.

Other notable winners this year include the Kia Telluride which have “features and materials at par with luxury brands costing twice as much,” and the Nissan Sentra which delivered an experience that’s big on luxury and style
