BMW Philippines Wants to Dominate the Luxury Sedan Category with the 2021 7 Series


SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, has announced the arrival of the new 2021 BMW 7 Series. Available in two variants, the 730i and 745Le both in Pure Excellence trim, this new generation of the BMW 7 Series makes a clear statement of intent with its presence, elegance, and innovation, and connectivity.

The new BMW 7 Series will again be offered in two body variants. The BMW 745Le Pure Excellence, the longer variant, translates its extra 140 millimeters of wheelbase into a similar on-board space gain for the rear-seat passengers. The BMW 730i Pure Excellence (5,120 mm) and its long-wheelbase twin (5,260 mm) are both 23 millimeters longer than their respective predecessors. The new model’s width (1,902 mm) and height (1,467 mm / long-wheelbase version: 1,479 mm) remain unchanged.



The most prominent part of the redesign is the striking front-end which has been made 50 mm taller at its foremost point. This not only gives the 7 Series a more imposing presence, but has enabled BMW designers to give it a larger double kidney—40 percent larger than its predecessor. The grille teams up with slimmer adaptive LED headlights and a reshaped bumper.

The 7 Series comes with two wheel sizes—18-inch (Multi-spoke style 619) for the 730i Pure Excellence, and 19-inch (Double-spoke 630 Bicolor) for the 745Le Pure Excellence. In both versions, runflat tires is standard.

At the back, the 2021 7 Series features slimmer taillights as well a full-width light bar that connects both sides together.



The 730i Pure Excellence features Dakota leather, Fine wood trim with “Fineline” high-gloss aluminum embellisher, electronically adjustable rear seats, and a Harman Kardon sound system. Meanwhile, the 745Le Pure Excellence upgrades that to Nappa leather with extended quilting and Poplar Grain Metallic Grey high-gloss wood trim. It also gets seat massagers for all passengers, and a rear entertainment system with a Harman Kardon surround sound system.

Standard on both 7 Series variants is the BMW Live Cockpit Professional. This system comprises of a navigation and multimedia system, together with a digital, high-resolution instrument cluster that sits behind the steering wheel that measures 12.3-inches and a Control Display at 10.25-inches. Apple CarPlay is standard across the range for enhanced smartphone connectivity, while BMW Gesture Control comes only in the BMW 745Le Pure Excellence.



BMW’s Parking Assistant, which allows automatic assisted parking in spaces that are either parallel or perpendicular to the road, as well as automatic maneuvering out of parallel parking spaces is standard; as is Park Distance Control with front and rear parking sensors, paired with a rearview camera system. The 745Le adds a 360-degree surround view.

At launch, the new BMW 7 Series will be offered in two engine configurations. The BMW 730i Pure Excellence is equipped with a 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower four-cylinder gasoline engine that makes 265 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.



Meanwhile, the 2021 BMW 745Le Pure Excellence serves as BMW’s first-ever Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)in the Philippines, offering a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower six-cylinder gasoline paired with an electric motor. The BMW 745Le is capable of up to 55 kilometers of electric range in ideal conditions, and offers a combined performance figure of 394 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. The 745Le will come with proper adapter that can be used on conventional wall sockets and a wall box for faster charging. 

The new BMW 730i Pure Excellence is priced at P 5,990,000 and is available in the following colors: Arctic Grey, Black Sapphire, Imperial Blue, Mineral White, and Sophisto Grey. The new BMW 745Le Pure Excellence is priced at P 9,590,000 and is offered in Black Sapphire, Mineral White, and Sophisto Grey. As with all new BMWs, the new BMW 7 Series comes with a 5-year or 200,000-kilometer manufacturer’s warranty – a new standard in the premium automotive segment in the Philippines.
