The Toyota GR Supra is Now Discounted by P 500k

A barometer of just how vulnerable the local automotive industry is amidst the pandemic, Toyota Motor Philippines is more than doubling the cash discount on its flagship sportscar, the GR Supra.

Last month, the two-seater sportscar came with a P 220,000 cash discount, which was generous by any margin. If you didn’t pull the trigger then though, you’re in luck as the GR Supra now comes with a P 500,000 cash discount. That brings down the price of the more affordable Prominence Red color to just P 4,490,000 (from P 4,990,000). Opting for any other color—Lightning Yellow, Deep Blue Metallic, White Metallic, Silver Metallic, Ice Gray Metallic, and Black Metallic and it’s P 4,550,000 (from P 5,050,000), while the Matte Storm Gray is P 4,590,000 (from P 5,090,000).

For non-cash buyers, the GR Supra is also available with a zero percent interest offer. If you opt for a 15 percent downpayment, you have up to 36 months to pay. If you’re a bit more liquid, and opt for a 50 percent downpayment, you have up to 60 months to pay.

The economic slowdown hasn’t just affected Toyota and the GR Supra, too. Other niche vehicles, such as the Honda Civic Type R is being offered with a P 180,000 cash discount just last month, while the Subaru WRX STI has a P 200,000 cash discount offer ongoing.
