The Brio is Honda Cars PH's Best-Selling Model This Year (So Far)

Amidst the clamor for affordable personal mobility, Honda Cars Philippines noted a shift in consumer demand for their automobiles this year.

In his Christmas message to members of the media, Honda Cars Philippines President Masahiko Nakamura reveals that the Brio is now the Japanese carmaker’s best-selling nameplate, overtaking its highly popular City.

The sub-B segment hatchback recorded more than 2,900 unit sold so far this year, followed closely by the City with 2,800 units. The 7-seater sub-compact BR-V remains third with 1,900 units sold.

“The Brio’s year-on-year sales has increased by 18 percent,” says Nakamura-san. “Year-to-date, HCPI continues to be among the top 10 leaders in the industry. Moreover, the Jazz, Civic, and CR-V are the leading models in their respective vehicle segments.”

Despite the challenging marketing conditions, Honda Cars remains in seventh spot in joint CAMPI-AVID sales data with 16,681 units year-to-date sales as of October 2020. This was even after they decided to stop assembly in the Philippines last February, and lost three Yuchengco-led dealerships during the pandemic.

Nakamura-san reiterates that Honda Cars is committed to provide a better consumer journey to all their customers. During the year, added two new ones: Honda Cars Tagum and Honda Cars Kalookan, bringing their total dealership count to 36 full-service dealerships.

They also launched their first-ever online dealership facility for both sales and aftersales, VIRTUAL@HONDA while also holding their first-ever Dealership Conference online. In October, Honda Cars kicked off their 30th anniversary in the Philippine market, the culmination of which was the launch of the all-new City and refreshed CR-V.

“Despite of all the challenges the whole nation is currently facing, we were able to achieve a fruitful 2020,” say Nakamura-san.
