Subaru Gives Base Forester a Sportier Look for 2021 with New GT Lite Variant

Motor Image Pilipinas, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines is adding a new variant of its Forester compact SUV this 2021 to give it an added dose of style.

Positioned just below the 2.0i-S, the 2021 Forester GT Lite gives the 2.0i-L EyeSight the same body kit designed exclusively for Motor Image by Subaru’s “hitmaker,” Masahiko “Jack” Kobayashi.

The kit, engineered and manufactured by Giken in Japan gives the 2.0i-L a front bumper lip spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper lip spoiler, a larger exhaust cutter, and a roof spoiler. Unlike the GT Edition though, the Forester GT Lite continues to run on stock 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/60R17 tires.

The rest of the GT Lite package is the same as the standard 2.0i-L. It gets standard leather seats, powered front seats (with memory for the driver), power tailgate, steering responsive automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a dual zone climate control with rear vents. Oh, and yes, it does get the Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist system as standard.

As for powertrain, the GT Lite uses a 2.0-liter horizontally-opposed 4-cylinder engine with 156 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque. This is mated to a Lineartronic CVT gearbox driving all four wheels via the Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.

The 2021 Subaru Forester GT Lite is now available for P 1.980 million at all authorized Subaru dealerships nationwide. Marking its first month of release, it comes with a P 50,000 discount.
