2021 Lexus LS Comes with a New P 5.928M Variant

Lexus Philippines is updating its flagship sedan, the LS for 2021 with added safety and convenience features, and a new variant that starts at below P 6 million.

Built under the expert eye of Lexus’s master craftsmen, the Lexus LS represents their pinnacle of luxury. It puts their attention to detail on full display with unique features such as the ‘kiriko’ glass art ornamentation as seen in the LS Hybrid 4-Seater Premier variant.

The same variant has power-adjustable Ottoman seats covered in premium semi-aniline leather with built-in massagers as well as retractable foot rests.

More than just the seats, the LS Hybrid Premier uses infrared Rays Matrix sensors that automatically detects the body surface temperature of each occupant, and adjusts the cooling or heating accordingly. Topping everything off, it even has a 23-speaker Mark Levinson Surround sound system.

On the engineering side, the Lexus LS has options of a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that offers powerful driving performance thanks to its 421-horsepower, 600 Nm of torque output, or a 354 horsepower, 650 Nm of torque Hybrid that delivers an exceptional 15.15 km/L.

An Artificial Intelligence Shift Control allows Drive mode switching by estimating the driver’s driving preferences and intentions from the vehicle speed and the amount of accelerator operation. This kind of intuitive control maximizes the potential of the direct-shift 10-speed automatic transmission for the LS500 or the Multi-Stage Hybrid Transmission for the LS500h. Adaptive Variable Suspension also adjusts suspension damping on the fly, and this delivers a super-smooth ride that is expected from Lexus.

For 2021, the Lexus LS comes equipped with Lexus’s most advanced safety technology. Chief among these is the Lexus Safety System 2.0 (LSS + 2) which addresses the three most common accident types: frontal collisions, lane departures, and nighttime accidents. Adaptive cruise control, adaptive high beams, and lane-keeping assist with lane-departure alert are the newest additions to the LS. And for added ease of connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now come standard.

This year, the Lexus LS comes in four variants: the LS500 Premier 5-seater priced at P 9,778,000; the LS500h Premier 5-seater at P 9,238,000; the LS500h Premier 4-Seater at 11,408,000, and finally, a new entry-level LS500 at just P 5,928,000.

The base LS500 is differentiated by its smooth leather interior, less power adjustment for the front seats (16 from 28), fixed rear seats, no wood on the steering wheel, two less zones for the climate control (dual from four), less speakers (12 from 23), and the removal of the Lexus Safety System.
